Mawson Resources Ltd (TSX:MAW) said after a successful winter drill program, which confirmed a gold system, planning was now underway for the next program starting later this year or early next.

Shares in the mining group added 8.82% in Toronto at $0.37.

Summarising the findings from the Rajapalot project in northern Finland, the group said 55 diamond drill holes for 11,056 metres and 1,801 base-of-till (BOT) drill holes were completed.

Mike Hudson, chairman and chief executive, said: "The winter drill program confirmed the presence of a large, gold-mineralized hydrothermal system at Rompas-Rajapalot, delivering one of Finland's most significant gold discoveries.

"The high hit rate of gold over regional-scale areas, the discovery of multiple high grade mineralized bodies and an extensive gold-footprint provided by BOT drilling, all in the first year of systematic, yet regional scale drill testing is impressive."

The key takeaways are that drilling confirmed the presence of a large gold-mineralized hydrothermal system within a 4.5 sq km area.

But that tested only 5% of the 27km strike of the interpreted host sequence in the Rajapalot area.

In addition, significantly 28% of the drill holes recorded greater than 5 g/t (grams per ton)- metre intersections, while 42% drilled in the Rajapalot project hit significant gold, greater than 1g/t- metre.

The total average drill depth on the project remains shallow at 109 metres.

Highlight assays included 10 metres at 11.6 g/t gold from 110.2 metres, and 2.9 metres at 1 g/t gold from 135.7 metres.

There was also 3m at 5.3 g/t gold from 143.9 metres at the Palokas prospect.

Raja lies 1.75 kilometres from another target, Palokas, and is the easternmost prospect tested to date in the Rajapalot area.

Best results included 27m at 3.3 g/t gold from 64.0 metres including some high grade zones.

A second hole 200m to the north of PAL0075 intersected 13.5 metres at 4.0 ppm gold from 180 metres

Michael Hudson, chief executive, said: "A blind discovery of this grade and thickness made in multiple drill holes, 1.75 kilometres from Palokas is a significant result for the Rajapalot project.

“By applying our understanding on the controls on mineralization, we are now successfully intersecting multiple high-grade gold mineralized zones under the thin glacial soil cover. This first systematic season of drill testing has proven the scale of the system, and is defining a wide range of exciting targets.

“With approximately 50% of assays still to come from the winter program, we look forward to substantial further news flow."

Mawson, which already has two diamond drilling rigs operating round the clock on site, said the survey contractor would extend the ground magnetic data coverage at Rajapalot.

The move follows a successful winter drilling campaign that saw the discovery of gold mineralizaton well beyond the current limits of geophysical coverage.

READ an overview of the Rompas-Rajapalot project in Finland

The plan is to do 105 kilometre-long lines of ground magnetics at 50 metres spacing.

The planned ground magnetic survey will cover the newly discovered area of potassic-iron-sulphide alteration announced on 6 March.

Line spacing for the new survey will be 50 metre (m) at Rajapalot, and 10 metre infill at Palokas.

To date, drilling has defined a zone that extends for 1,200m along strike and 400m in width that remains open. Further mineralization of the same style was reported on 6 April.

"Our winter drilling program has significantly expanded the footprint of gold mineralization at Rajapalot, well beyond the area where we have detailed ground geophysical data,” said Michael Hudson, chairman and chief executive officer of Mawson.

“Owing to the association of pyrrhotite and magnetite with gold mineralization, ground magnetics is a valuable tool to map gold-bearing host rocks at Rajapalot under the thin glacial soil that covers 99% of the prospect area. While winter conditions persist, we have moved quickly to mobilize a geophysical team to site," Hudson added.

Shares in Mawson were off 1.3% at C$0.39 in early deals.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources' latest assays show large gold system emerging at Rajapalot ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/176095/mawson-resources-latest-assays-show-large-gold-system-emerging-at-rajapalot-176095.html A 'large mineralized' gold system is emerging at the Rajapalot project in northern Finland, says explorer Mawson Resources Ltd (TSE:MAW, OTCMKTS:MWSNF).

Releasing assays from 13 diamond drill holes in its winter program, the firm said the previous mineralised zone had been "significantly extended".

Gold has now been discovered on the western, southern and eastern margins of the previous mineralization footprint.

Today's finds support the discovery of a new style of gold-bearing system, the firm added, which is characterised by an extensive area of potassic-iron-sulphide alteration.

Significantly, drilling has now defined a zone that extends for 1,200m along strike and 400m in width that remains open.

Among the highlights, hole PAL0048 was drilled 1.75 km southeast of the Palokas target and hit 6 metres at 2.0 g/t (grams per ton) gold from 53 metres and 13.7 metres at 2.0 g/t gold from 82 metres.

Meanwhile, the southernmost hole at Rajapalot hit 5 metres at 1.2 g/t gold from 37.3 metres.

So far, assays from 19 holes have been reported, while results are pending for an additional 23 holes. A further 10 diamond drill holes are planned before the completion of the winter program.

Michael Hudson, chief executive and chairman, told investors: "The bold exploration approach taken by Mawson during the 2017 winter program is now paying dividends.

"By stepping out to previously known the limits of the mineralized system at Rajapalot, the gold mineralized footprint has been significantly expanded and demonstrated to be open on the western, southern and eastern margins.

"In combination with the significant hydrothermal alteration observed in all holes, it is clear a large mineralized system exists at Rajapalot.

"With less than 50% of assays received from holes drilled to date, and four rigs still drilling 24/7, we look forward to further news flow."

Shares eased 1.16% to stand at $0.425.

Assay results from eight holes have been reported, while results are pending for an additional 24 completed holes.

A further 25 diamond drill holes are planned to be drilled before the completion of the winter program.

“A fifth drill rig has now been mobilized to site, based on early program success, which includes the discovery of two high-grade gold zones at Palokas with greater than 100 gold gram x metre intercepts ( News Release 21 Feb 2017 ); the delineation by BOT drilling of broad gold anomalies across the property ( News Release 9 Feb 2017 ); and the discovery of a new style of gold-bearing alteration comprising magnetite-pyrrhotite-biotite-chlorite at South Rajapalot, in a broad zone extending 900m along strike ( News Release 6 Mar 2017 ),” informed Michael Hudson, chairman and chief executive officer of Mawson.

Shares in Mawson eased 1.25% to $0.395 at the time of writing.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson shares jump after reports drilling 2.2 m of 7.7 g/t gold at Rompas-Rajapalot ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/174335/mawson-shares-jump-after-reports-drilling-22-m-of-77-gt-gold-at-rompas-rajapalot-174335.html Mawson Resources Ltd (TSE:MAW, OTCMKTS:MWSNF) shares jumped 8% on Wall Street and 18% in Toronto on Monday after the company reported further breakthroughs in its Finland-based operations as it released drill results from a further four diamond drill holes from the 2016 to 2017 winter program at the company's 100%-owned Rompas-Rajapalot project.

This winter, a total of 16 diamond holes have been completed to date, with two in progress, for 3,753 metres. Three rigs are now drilling around the clock, and a fourth rig will be mobilized to site during mid-March.

Key points:

A new style of gold-bearing system has been discovered at South Rajapalot, characterised by an extensive area of potassic-iron-sulphide alteration located up to 1,800m south of the Palokas prospect. Drilling has defined a zone that extends for 900m along strike and 400m in width that remains open. To date, a total of 12 holes have been drilled into the area, with assay results available from 2 drill holes (PAL0033 and PAL0037).

PAL0037 drilled 56m of gold-bearing magnetite, pyrrhotite, biotite and chlorite alteration from 5.0m that averaged 0.53 g/t gold (without applying a lower cut). Higher grade zones included 2.0m @ 3.6 g/t gold from 33.0m and 4.0m @ 3.7 g/t gold from 57m;

PAL0037 intersected what is believed to be, in part, the source of 68 grab samples from boulders and subcrops that lie immediately down ice direction which assayed >0.1 g/t gold and range from 0.11 g/t gold to 3,870 g/t gold with an average of 101.4 g/t gold and median of 0.6 g/t gold. Grab samples are selected samples and are not necessarily representative of the mineralization hosted on the property.

PAL0033, drilled 700m north of PAL0037, intersected a similar style of potassic-iron-sulphide alteration with results including 2.2m @ 7.7 g/t gold from 152.5m;

Drill core from this new discovery will be on display at the PDAC convention in Toronto at Mawson's booth #2941 until Wednesday 8 March. Dr. Nick Cook, President, will be at the core display booth #3107B on Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 March. CEO Michael Hudson will discuss the drilling program and the new discovery at 10:20am on Monday 6 March in Room 802.

"This new style of potassic-iron-sulphide alteration gold-bearing hydrothermal system at South Rajapalot is clearly large, and capable of precipitating gold in a variety of structural and stratigraphic settings across a broad area,” said Hudson, Chairman and CEO.

“Drilling is ongoing and many drill holes that are altered remain to be assayed. The potential of the area continues to grow, we have already drilled gold within a 1.75km strike length from Palokas to South Rajapalot during this early stage of our winter program and we look forward to learning more as further results become available," he added.

Mawson shares were up 7.95% at $0.33 in late Monday trading in New York and as much as 18.1% at C$0.49 in Toronto.

Hole PAL0030 at the Palokas target intersected 10.0 metres at a grade of 11.6 g/t gold from a depth of 110.2 metres while PAL0027 intersected 6.8 metres at14.7 g/t gold from 34.4 metres.

Michael Hudson, chief executive, described it as a great start to the winter program, especially hole PAL0030.

This was a high-grade gold shoot, down plunge from near surface mineralization, which resulted in the deepest high grade-width intersection at Rajapalot, to date, he added.

This high-grade intercept is the high grade-width intersection at Rajapalot, and confirms the shoot interpretation, which remains open at depth, Hudson added.

“Two rigs continue to drill 24/7 over 1,800 metres of strike length. Given the discovery success to date, two additional drill rigs, subject to permitting, will be mobilized to site in the coming weeks."

<![CDATA[News - Mawson discovers multiple gold targets at Rajapalot ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/172945/mawson-discovers-multiple-gold-targets-at-rajapalot-172945.html Canada-listed Mawson Resources Ltd (TSE:MAW) released results from infill drilling at the Raja permit and the first systematic base-of-till (BOT) drill program under way at the Kairamaat 2-3 permit area within the Rajapalot gold project in Finland on Thursday.

The BOT drill program consists of shallow grid-based drilling designed to test for gold mineralization beneath thin glacial soil cover.

In total, across all permit areas, 1,350 BOT holes have now been completed from a planned 1,450-hole program. Drilling is continuing, and assays from 321 holes are awaited from Kairamaat 2-3.

The larger area for BOT drilling was delineated by Mawson's previous discovery of 201 boulders and subcrop grab samples with greater than 0.1 gram per tonne gold that range from 0.1 gram per tonne gold to 3,220 grams per tonne gold, with an average of 89.3 grams per tonne gold and a median of 0.9 gram per tonne gold. Grab samples are selected samples and are not necessarily representative of the mineralization hosted on the property.

New results reported here include: Eight hundred four BOT drill holes over a four-kilometre-by-three-kilometre area within Natura 2000 areas at Rajapalot (Kairamaat 2-3) confirm the large scale and tenor of gold anomalism across the property. Multiple new targets have been defined. Two hundred six infill BOT holes at 25-metre spacing drilled east of Kairamaat 2-3 at Raja, and outside Natura 2000 areas, have defined six diamond drill-ready targets. This is a follow-up to grid drilling as reported in Mawson's news release dated Oct. 25, 2016. Encouragingly, gold-mineralized BOT samples match and better define the surface trend of the Palokas prospect where previous diamond drill intersections include 5.4 metres at 37.6 grams per tonne gold from 2.5 metres and 19.3 metres at 7.4 grams per tonne gold from 1.3 metres. True thickness of mineralized intervals is interpreted to be approximately 90 per cent of the sampled thickness. Lateral continuity of gold-mineralized rocks below thin glacial soil over a broad area can now be inferred from interpretation of ground magnetics, BOT rock types and alteration minerals (in particular, chlorite, muscovite, biotite and talc), combined with gold, bismuth and tellurium, and other trace and major element assays. At Palokas, a distinctive gold core with a bismuth halo is evident in the BOT data. Diamond drilling continues, with two drill rigs operating 24/seven at Rajapalot. Results from this program will start to be reported shortly.

"This systematic base-of-till drill test of Rajapalot confirms the broad extent of gold anomalism across the property. The replication of the known mineralized areas validates the BOT technique as a viable method. The scale of anomalism is impressive, and the absolute values of some of the higher values in weathered bedrock (up to 259 parts per billion gold) is encouraging. Importantly, infill BOT drilling at 25-metre spacing has defined six diamond drill targets outside Natura 2000 areas. BOT drilling will continue 24/seven until we fully test the larger gridded area and follow up priority locations with closer-spaced infill drilling. We also look forward to the imminent news flow for drill core assays from two diamond drill rigs, which are also operating 24/seven at Rajapalot," said Michael Hudson, chief executive officer

Drilling took place over an area of three kilometres by four kilometres on Mawson's recently granted exploration permits at Kairamaat 2-3 and Hirvimaa, and within an area covered by a landholder permit on the Raja exploration permit application area. Nine hundred twenty grid-based BOT drill holes have now been completed inside exploration permit Kairamaat 2-3. Till depth varied between 0.3 metre and 11 metres, and averaged 4.4 metres. Four different sample types were described from the drilling data: glacial till (7 per cent of all total samples), weathered bedrock (59 per cent), diamict or reworked till (31 per cent), and reworked and transported sand (3 per cent). Areas of geochemical anomalism for follow-up were based on multielement gold, tellurium, copper and bismuth, and normalized to sample type (weathered bedrock and till varieties) as well as geological observations, including the presence of hydrothermal alteration minerals. Most geochemical anomalies have been defined in weathered bedrock.

Progress recently has stepped up a gear with the company's development work at the Rompas-Rajapalot gold project in the north of country now moving to the heavy drill stage.

Watch: Mawson Resources undervalued compared to peers, CEO says

Diamond drilling underway

Two diamond drill rigs will come on stream in coming weeks to follow an extensive testing of near-surface targets.

More than 40 people will be employed when all rigs are on site and active.

Eight new targets have been defined at Rompas-Rajapalot from 225 base-of-till (BOT) drill holes and grab samples that ranged from 0.1 g/t gold to 236 g/t gold.

Grades were an average of 22.6 g/t gold and a median value of 1.0 g/t gold.

"This first systematic drill test of the area met our aims to define geochemically anomalous areas beneath thin glacial till, that covers 99% of the area, with eight anomalous zones defined over a large area of 2.3 km by 1.4 km,” said Michael Hudson, chairman and chief executive officer.

The aim from the latest programme is to drill up to 4 kilometres along strike and down dip from mineralization discovered during shallower exploration at Palokas.

This includes one of the most promising areas of 19.0 metres at 5.3 g/t gold from 38.7 metres in drill hole PRAJ0109.

A new gold address

Hudson says while Rompas-Rajapalot is a relatively new discovery, the potential is there for it to become a major gold ‘address’

There have been ‘very few’ high grade gold discoveries in good jurisdictions such as Finland made in recent years, he adds but this latest drill programme will, if not providing confirmation, at least indicate he may have one.

It will be Mawson’s largest ever drill programme and with a $6mln financing just closed, the company wanted to waste no time in getting the rigs turning.

Fortunately for Mawson, it has supportive shareholders with private equity investors owning 35% and this was key it getting the money for the exploration.

Drilling will continue until April 2017, when the assays should start to indicate whether Hudson is right to be optimistic about the potential.

Mawson shares have done well

Currently valued at C$42.7mln at C$40.41, Mawson shares have more than doubled over the past year as the samples and shallow test results have come through.

Hudson though sees the next stage of the company’s development pushing that market value to between C$150-200mln.

Good drill results this year, one suspects, may go some way to achieving that.

The details came with its half-year to November earnings report and a TV interview in which the company’s CEO said he hopes to see the business revalued upward by the end of 2017.

In December 2016, Mawson announced the diamond drill program will exceed 10,000 metres with more than 50 holes planned.

Twenty local Finnish staff and consultants are already employed on site in northern Finland, including geologists, field technicians, environmental experts, drillers and drilling offsiders. When all rigs are mobilized in the coming weeks more than 40 local Finnish people will be employed to execute drill programs.

Additionally, a BOT drill program commenced in December 2016, with over 700 holes planned as a fast and cost-effective technique to discover and test targets within a 1,425 hectare area around Palokas. So far, 151 BOT drill holes have been completed. Drill assays are awaited.

Earlier on Thursday, Mawson CEO Michael Hudson told Stocktube the company was undervalued compared to peers but that he hopes by the end of 2017 it will be ripe for a re-valuation at a higher level".

(TSE:MAW) on Friday provided an update to its recently announced drill programs at the Rajapalot gold project in Finland. Drilling is now under way and is scheduled to continue until April, 2017.

The Mawson team in northern Finland is progressively expanding to support and establish access for all drill rigs. Twenty local people are already working in Rovaniemi and on site at Ylitornio during the current ramp-up phase, with more than 40 people planned to be employed when all rigs are on site and active.

Base-of-till (BOT) drilling is now well under way, with near-surface gold targets being systematically tested. Two diamond drill rigs shall begin operation at Rompas-Rajapalot in the coming weeks.

Key points: Twenty local Finnish staff and consultants are already employed on site in northern Finland, including geologists, field technicians, environmental experts, drillers and drilling offsiders. When all rigs are mobilized in the coming weeks, more than 40 local Finnish people will be employed to execute drill programs. To date, 151 BOT drill holes have been completed from the planned total of 700 BOT holes. Drill assays are awaited. Two further diamond drill rigs will be mobilized to the Rompas-Rajapalot site by late December, 2016. Variable winter conditions have necessitated additional ice road construction to ensure safe rig access with zero environmental impact. Drilling will continue until April, 2017. Mawson has completed detailed baseline mapping and compilation of species, habitats and vegetation across the Rompas-Rajapalot area. Following three years of biological studies, the company has a detailed understanding of the natural environment at every drill location and acts to ensure the impact of all activity is minimized.

"With drilling now under way, we are now a significant employer in the local Ylitornio district and Rovaniemi city of Finland. More than 20 per cent of the base-of-till drill program has been completed, and we look forward to the flow of results from this first systematic test of the Rompas-Rajapalot gold system,” said Michael Hudson, chief executive officer.

“A slower-than-anticipated start to winter conditions has resulted in a one- to two-week delay the mobilization of two additional diamond drill rigs as we work to prepare the appropriate drill access,” he added.

Over the last three years, detailed biological studies consisting of baseline mapping and compilation of species, habitats and vegetation has led to a clear understanding of the potential impacts of the current winter work program on a site-by-site basis.

Four administrative bodies, representing the mining and environmental authorities, and both the regional and supreme administrative courts, have found that Mawson's exploration work, carried out as permitted, does not present any significant risks to nature, environment, animals, other livelihoods, or people in the Rajapalot area or its vicinity.

Monitoring over many years of the species, vegetation and habitats within the research area has proven that the impacts of Mawson's exploration work has been much smaller than was even expected. In addition, the project and Mawson's exploration work enjoys strong local support from the neighbouring village associations and the Ylitornio municipality.

Mawson shares were up 1.5% at C$0.35 on Friday.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson shares jump 9%, says to drill over 10,000 m at Rompas-Rajapalot ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/170063/mawson-shares-jump-9-says-to-drill-over-10000-m-at-rompas-rajapalot-170063.html Mawson Resources Ltd. (TSE:MAW) shares advanced more than 9% on Tuesday after the company said it had signed a plus-10,000-metre diamond drill contract and over-700-hole base-of-till (BOT) drill program at the 100%-owned Rompas-Rajapalot gold project in northern Finland.

The first drill rig is to mobilize to site this week.

Key Points:

Diamond drill program will exceed 10,000 metres with more than 50 holes planned; Program will double the drill metres into the Rajapalot prospect, and will be the first systematic, large scale and deep test of the area; Two diamond drill rigs will be mobilized to the Rompas-Rajapalot site by the third week of December 2016; Drilling will continue until April 2017; Base-of-till drilling ("BOT") will commence immediately, with over 700 holes planned.

"With a $6 million financing just closed, we are wasting no time in getting the rigs turning at Rajapalot, as we begin our largest ever drill program. All permits are in place for this systematic and deep diamond drill testing that will double drilling completed in this highly prospective area. Our aim is to drill up to 4 kilometres along strike and down dip from mineralization discovered during this early stage drilling at Palokas, which included 19.0 metres @ 5.3 g/t gold from 38.7 metres in drill hole PRAJ0109,” said Michael Hudson, CEO.

In addition, fast and cost-effective grid base-of-till drilling will be used to discover and test targets within a 1,425 hectare area around Palokas. Systematic base-of-till drilling of over 700 drill holes at 150 metre spacing will be completed across a broad prospective sequence that is masked by thin glacial soil cover."

More than 50 holes for 10,000 diamond drill metres are planned in the program. To date 94 holes for only 5,972 metres with an average depth of 64 metres have been completed in the Rajapalot area. The planned +10,000 metre diamond drill program will focus on determining the strike and depth continuity of Palokas prospect mineralization and drilling targets developed in conjunction with existing drill and surface data and the recently completed gradient array IP-Resistivity and magnetic surveys. Drill holes will average between 150 and 250 metres long with some holes up to 500 metres down-hole depth as required.

Mawson shares were up 9.3% at C$0.47 on Tuesday.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources starts phase 2 at Rompas-Rajapalot ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/168828/mawson-resources-starts-phase-2-at-rompas-rajapalot-168828.html Mawson Resources Ltd. (TSE:MAW) said on Thursday it has completed the first phase of a geophysical program to infill and extend data coverage at the wholly-owned Rompas-Rajapalot project in northern Finland.

Due to recent encouraging base-of-till drill results, the company now plans to extend the geophysical survey area (phase 2) into additional gold prospective areas.

Phase 1 completed:

Twenty-two line kilometres of gradient array IP (induced polarization) geophysics were completed along the Palokas trend, including coverage of the Joki prospect. Areas surveyed have thin glacial till cover, and are associated with undrilled anomalous surface geochemistry. The survey tested for chargeable and low-resistive zones that are known to be associated with gold mineralization.

Eighty-four line kilometres of extension and infill ground magnetics were completed at 50-metre line spacing, undertaken to constrain various structurally controlled gold targets that may concentrate gold mineralization.

Phase 2 now under way:

Sixty-three line kilometres of ground magnetic surveying are planned to extend coverage of the Raja area, where eight areas of gold anomalism were discovered by recent base-of-till (BOT) drilling described in Mawson's news release dated Oct. 25. Read more.

Planning is being finalized for the company's extensive winter program, comprising greater than 10,000 metres of diamond drilling and more than 1,500 BOT drill holes, at both the Palokas prospect and broader Rajapalot project. Winter drilling is set to commence in mid-December, 2016.

"These geophysical surveys are critical in defining and constraining target areas for the 10,000-metre diamond drill program that will commence from mid-December. Preliminary models of the geophysical data already show multiple targets that are in context with known mineralization and other geochemical data. We stand ready for a very exciting winter program,” said Michael Hudson, chief executive officer.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources surges as it defines eight new targets in Finland ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/167937/mawson-resources-surges-as-it-defines-eight-new-targets-in-finland-167937.html Mawson Resources Ltd (TSE:MAW) has defined eight new targets at its Rompas-Rajapalot project in northern Finland.

The company released results from 225 base-of-till (BOT) drill holes from the Rajapalot prospect at its wholly-owned Rompas-Rajapalot project, and is already working on follow-up BOT drilling.

In all, 225 BOT holes were drilled over an area 2.3 kilometres (km) by 1.4 km on a 150 metre (m) grid pattern; an additional 206 drill holes are planned at 25m centres along anomalous drill traverses defined from the first program, Mawson said.

Anomalous surface geochemistry in the area included 23 boulders and sub-crop grab samples of less than 0.1 grams per tonne (g/t) gold that ranged from 0.1 g/t gold to 236 g/t gold, with an average of 22.6 g/t gold and a median value of 1.0 g/t gold.

Grab samples were selected samples and are not necessarily representative of the mineralization hosted on the property, Mawson advised.

"This first systematic drill test of the area met our aims to define geochemically anomalous areas beneath thin glacial till, that covers 99% of the area, with eight anomalous zones defined over a large area of 2.3 km by 1.4 km,” said Michael Hudson, chairman and chief executive officer of the company.

“We have already commenced follow-up infill BOT drilling and are looking to progress to deeper diamond drilling for target testing. As the drill area lies outside Natura 2000 areas, drilling can be undertaken all year, rather than be limited to winter drilling from mid-December to mid-April," Hudson revealed.

Shares in Mawson rose 6% to C$0.445 on the announcement.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources to crack on in Finland ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/167427/mawson-resources-to-crack-on-in-finland-167427.html Mawson Resources Ltd (TSE:MAW), the gold explorer focused on the Nordic countries, has a busy exploration program lined up for 2016/17.

As at the end of August the company held a total of three granted exploration permits, 11 exploration permit applications and two reservations in Finland.

Read Mawson wins court ruling to explore Finnish prospects

Hand-portable diamond drilling to 100 metres depth resumed in mid-September at the Boardwalk prospect, located 550 metres south of the main Palokas prospect.

Meanwhile, a 225 drill hole program has been completed at the Raja prospect, located a kilometre east of Palokas, and the company is awaiting results from the lab.

At Rajapalot, the company plans to start infill drilling and the extension of ground magnetic and gradient array using induced polarization (IP).

“New IP and ground magnetic survey will increase coverage and infill of existing magnetic survey will better control recognition of fold closures to trap gold,” the company said.

One thousand base-of-till (BoT) drill holes are to be drilled at Rajapalot, with the aim of tracking gold dispersion, once frozen ground conditions allow – probably from December 2016.

The Palokas mineralized position will be systematically tested over a 3.5 kilometres strike as well as the entire Kairamaat 2 & 3 claims areas.

Larger-scale drilling, also scheduled to start when conditions allow, will follow up on near-surface and the larger-scale and systematic BoT drilling programs. The aim of the program is two-fold, with some 60% of the budget allocated to drill out a maiden resource and the remainder earmarked to test semi-regional targets over the larger area after the systematic BOT program.

Meanwhile, up to five biologists have been collecting baseline data for plants, birds and fauna for ongoing environmental studies over the last eight weeks. After two years of detailed biological studies, the company is now well positioned to complete what is known as the Natura Assessment for the entire 16,380 hectares of granted exploration permits and application areas.

In Sweden, the company has a total of two claims that are prospective for gold, covering 2,416 hectares.

The drilling plans were outlined in the company’s fiscal first quarter update covering the June-August period.

Cash at the end of August stood at C$3.7mln, down from C$4.2mln a year earlier.

The quarter saw the company spend C$167,855 on exploration and evaluation activities, down from C$203,909 the year before.

The net loss for the period widened to C$274,752 from C$167,559 a year earlier, but narrowed from the preceding quarter’s net loss of C$315,297.

As the company is in the exploration stage of investigating and evaluating its unproven mineral interests, it has no source of operating revenue at present.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson wins court ruling to explore Finnish prospects ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/166248/mawson-wins-court-ruling-to-explore-finnish-prospects-166248.html Mawson Resources Ltd. (TSE:MAW) shares rose on Wednesday after the company’s permission to drill Kairamaat 2 and 3 in Finland was upheld by the highest court in the country.

The Finnish supreme administrative court comprehensively rejected an appeal by the Finnish Nature Conservation Association (an NGO), which now allows Mawson the right to actively explore the permits which cover the Rajapalot and Palokas prospects in Northern Finland. The decision is non-appealable and the exploration permits gain immediate legal force.

The court rejected an appeal by the NGO against the exploration permit decision that entitles Mawson to drill up to 123 deep diamond drill holes within Natura 2000 biodiversity areas during winter conditions and hand-portable-rig access during summer conditions.

This is the first time the company has gained full drill access to test the gold mineralised system across the Rajapalot area.

Mawson now plans to undertake a substantial winter deep diamond drilling programme of 10,000 metres, amongst other work programmes, at the Palokas prospect and broader Rajapalot project area.

On June 26, 2014, the Finnish mining authority, TUKES, granted Mawson a modified and renewed exploration permit (Kairamaat 2 and 3) that covers a surface area of 1,462 hectares at Mawson's Rajapalot and Palokas gold project in Northern Finland.

In late July, 2014, TUKES's decision was appealed by the NGO to the Northern Finland administrative court through a standard public appeal process. On May 21, 2015, the administrative court rejected all aspects of the appeal. On June 18, 2015, the NGO appealed the regional administrative court's decision to the supreme administrative court and on Sept. 20, the supreme administrative court upheld the lower court decision.

Over the last year, four administrative bodies representing the mining and environmental authorities and both the regional and supreme administrative courts have found that Mawson's exploration work, carried out as permitted, does not present any significant risks to nature, environment, animals, other livelihoods or people in the Rajapalot area or its vicinity.

The exploration permits are valid for a period of three years, the maximum time allowable under the Finnish Mining Act. The company has been working under an enforcement order granted in October, 2014, and an application to extend the permits can be made in three-year intervals, up to a maximum of 15 years. The next renewal date is in October 2017.

"The supreme administrative court has unequivocally endorsed the permit granted to Mawson by the mining authority in July, 2014, which was fully supported by all environmental authorities, to allow deeper drilling at the highly prospective Rajapalot gold project,” said Michael Hudson, the company's president and chief executive officer.

“Among other rights, the decision allows the company to deep drill up to 123 diamond drill holes in Natura 2000 biodiversity areas amongst other work programs, and is the key milestone we have been essentially awaiting since the first permits were applied for in October 2009. We understand the responsibility granted to us by this decision and look forward to working with the mining and environmental authorities to ensure our work is conducted according to global best practice methods."

Mawson shares were 1.6% higher at C$0.32 on Wednesday.

Work will target the untested Boardwalk prospect 550 metres south of the main Palokas prospect.

Surface samples returned high gold grades and Boardwalk is believed to be hosted in the same structure as the Palokas mineralization.

Michael Hudson, chief executive, said: “Significant advances in the geological understanding of the Rompas-Rajapalot project have been achieved since we completed our last diamond drill program early this year.

“Structural, stratigraphic and fluid-rock similarities have been identified across a range of mineralization styles, allowing recognition of more than 65 kilometres strike of gold-prospective host stratigraphy of Paleoproterozoic age, with multiple targets remaining to be tested."

An initial program of 10 holes for 1,000 metres are planned to test near surface gold mineralization over the coming months.

Drilling of two hundred and twenty-five bottom of till (BOT) holes at Raja has also now been completed.

The aim of the BOT program is to delineate geochemically anomalous undercover targets for follow-up diamond drilling.

(TSE:MAW) announced on Wednesday that drilling was underway at the company’s Rompas-Rajapalot in Finland, east of the Palokas gold prospect.

"As we explore the Rompas-Rajapalot project, we continually see evidence for the development of a large-scale hydrothermal gold-bearing system,” said Mawson CEO Michael Hudson.

“The frequency of high-grade gold we have discovered over a 10-kilometre-by-10-kilometre area is impressive, especially in context with our new structural interpretation, which has defined more than 65 kilometres of gold-prospective host stratigraphy,” he added.

Mawson was pressing ahead systematically during the summer and winter drilling programs that will happen in conjunction with geoscientific synthesis, Hudson explained.

At Raja, 300 holes are planned and work will kick off at the end of this month, the miner said.

The area is outside the Natura 2000 areas, to the east of the Palokas gold project and this drilling will take place on both Mawson’s recently granted exploration permit at Hirvimaa, as well as within an area covered by a landholder permit, received last week. Multiple surface targets remain untested.

Meanwhile, light-weight, hand-portable “Winkie” diamond drilling down to 100m depth will begin again in late August 2016 at Rajapalot, to test near surface drill targets.

Elsewhere, 700 drill holes are to be drilled at Rajapalot, to assist in targeting gold at the Palokas prospect.

This program is subject to final permitting and will begin when the ground thaws to allow access from December 2016, the firm said.

In keeping with a firm at this stage of development, the net loss was $1.34mln - an improvement from the previous year of a loss of $2.1mln, on nil group revenues.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources drills 2.9 m of 5.9 g/t Au at Palokas ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/125269/mawson-resources-drills-29-m-of-59-gt-au-at-palokas-125269.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) on Tuesday updated on the final eight drill holes (PAL0018 to PAL0025) from the 16-hole, 3,386-metre winter drill programme at the 100%-owned Palokas gold project in Finland.

Two hand-portable Energold Group EGD Series III rigs, modified to meet environmental requirements and climate conditions, were used for the drill programme, the company said.

Palokas mineralisation extended to north: PAL0019 discovered the down-plunge extension of mineralization at Palokas, intersecting 2.9 metres at 5.9 grams per tonne gold from 176.7 metres, including one metre at 16.7 grams per tonne gold from 178.7 metres.

Mineralisation is hosted within a 40-metre-thick chlorite-tourmaline-amphibole-pyrrhotite rock and is the deepest discovery at Palokas to date.

Multiple mineralised zones defined: Mineralisation in PAL0018 (one metre at 17.9 grams per tonne gold from 172 metres) is hosted in altered sericitic calcsilicate-bearing albitites interpreted to be 50 metres lower in the stratigraphy than the Palokas mineralisation.

Mineralised rocks drilled over 3.5-kilometre strike: Drill hole PAL0023 (three metres at 2.1 grams per tonne gold from 84.4 metres) is significant as it is located two kilometres from Palokas and is the most easterly hole drilled along the Palokas target horizon.

The main Palokas mineralised position was found within a 100-metre-thick hydrothermally altered talc-silicified-pyrrhotite-amphibole rock. The host sequence here is inverted, increasing both complexity and volume of potential host rock within the target area.

Multiple targets remain untested: A thin veneer of glacial soils that average three metres to five metres thick covers 99 per cent of the area. In combination with the ubiquitous presence of gold mineralisation in both drilling and surface sampling over a large area, many areas remain untested.
Rumajarvi is located 1,500 metres south of Palokas where 68 boulders and subcrops greater than 0.1 gram per tonne gold ranged from 0.11 gram per tonne gold to 3,870 grams per tonne gold with an average of 101.4 grams per tonne gold and a median of 0.6 gram per tonne gold. Two holes drilled at Rumajarvi failed to find the source of the boulder train.

Joki, which was not tested during this drill campaign, has 13 boulders and outcrops greater than 0.1 gram per tonne gold, which ranged from 0.1 gram per tonne gold to 2,871 grams per tonne gold with an average of 518.5 grams per tonne gold and a median of 135.5 grams per tonne gold.

Boardwalk, which was not tested during this drill campaign, has 13 boulders and outcrops greater than 0.1 gram per tonne gold, which ranged from 0.18 gram per tonne gold to 221 grams per tonne gold with an average of 38.2 grams per tonne gold and a median of one gram per tonne gold.

The Finnish Nature Conservation Association, Lapland district (a non-government organisation), retracts its false accusations in its reappeal to the Supreme Court after a police investigation.

In August, Mawson said it had requested a police investigation into certain accusations made by the Finnish Nature Conservation Association, Lapland district, in its appeal to Supreme Administrative Court on an earlier ruling made by the Regional Administrative Court in May, 2015.

The NGO made false claims that Mawson had performed deep drilling inside Natura 2000 areas before permitting had been completed.

After almost six months after filing the reappeal and commencement of the police investigation, the NGO retracted its false accusations. Subsequently, the company was informed by the Rovaniemi police that the investigation was closed on April 7, 2016.

Mawson said in a statement: "The company is pleased that the retraction was eventually provided. Unfortunately, Mawson has lost one year of research in the appeal process and significant employment opportunities because of false allegations. While too late for this current legal process, Mawson also welcomes the Finnish government's new governmental coalition program, which limits access to the Supreme Administrative Court in environmental and construction matters."

Mawson shares were up 5.77% at C$0.28 on Tuesday.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources sitting on a new gold-uranium mining camp in Finland ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/124808/mawson-resources-sitting-on-a-new-gold-uranium-mining-camp-in-finland-124808.html Times may be tough in the mining industry, but that hasn’t prevented Mawson Resources Limited (CSE:MAW) from getting on and doing what it does best: exploring for new gold.

While other peers hunkered down to weather out the storms, the company drilled on its Finnish exploration properties through 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and now 2016.

The most recent results, from the Palokas project, included 8.4 metres at 4.2 gram gold per tonne from a depth of 206 metres. This hole was drilled around 350 metres along strike from the established mineralised zone at Palokas, and represents the best hit to date outside of the main zone.

What’s more, the type of mineralisation encountered in this latest hole corresponds to mineralisation encountered in another existing prospect 1,300 metres to the south, Rumajarvi.

THE BUSINESS

The ongoing drilling is all centred on Mawson’s wider Rompas-Rajapalot project just south of the Arctic Circle in Finland. The thinking is that this could be a camp-scale discovery, given that gold and uranium have been found within an area approaching 10 kilometres by 10 kilometres.

Prior to the most recent results Palokas has already yielded some impressive hits, including 19.5 metres at 7.4 grams gold and 5.4 metres at 37.6 grams gold. Meanwhile, at the nearby Rompas vein system, Mawson has hit 617 grams gold over seven metres, including one metre at 3,540 grams gold.

Following that hit, Mawson then hit uranium on Rompas too, intersecting 395 grams per tonne gold and 0.41% U308 across 0.4 metres at a depth of 41 metres.

It’s intriguing stuff, and hardly surprising that the company keeps coming back round for further investigations, or that it keeps getting the financing to do so.

But one of the caption headings on Mawson’s website describes the company as a “team of orefinders with years of capital markets experience.” The message is that the Mawson team has delivered before and fully intends to do so again.

Chief executive Michael Hudson started out at Broken Hill, one of the most famous of all Australian mining projects. He then went on to work up exploration projects in Australia, Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Sweden, Finland, Spain and Portugal. He was a founder of Flinders (CSE:FDR), of Tasman Metals (CSE:TSM) and Tinka Resources (CSE:TK).

Fellow director David Henstridge also boasts many years of varied experience in mining and mining finance, while Sandinavian exploration manager Erkki Vanhanen has spent 15 years in the field in project generation. He’s spent time with Areva, and with the widely respected Finnish Geological Survey.

FROM THE BOSS

“We are pleased to see higher grades develop 350 metres from Palokas,” says Michael Hudson. “More importantly our recent drilling has provided confirmation that Palokas consists of a large, gold-bearing hydrothermal system with multiple alteration styles that affect numerous intervals in a thick stratigraphic package. Drilling continues.”

THE SHARE PRICE

Since the beginning of the year the shares have climbed from lows of below C$0.20 to the current C$0.25 price, a rise of 25%. In part this reflects improving sentiment towards the sector as a whole, which had taken a severe beating for several years before a slightly better mood set in in the first quarter of 2016.

But it’s also reflective of a wide awareness of the potential that Mawson is sitting on. After all, even if sentiment is improving the sector is still in a very fragile state, and investors will be being very discerning in picking which companies they are willing to go back into, and which they are not.

FROM THE BROKER

“Continuity is there and the geological model holds up well,” wrote analysts from Dundee Capital Markets back in February of this year. “The project remains highly prospective with less than 5% of a 3 kilometre long target tested to date.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources director Leathley steps down ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/124403/mawson-resources-director-leathley-steps-down-124403.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) director Gil Leathley stepped down on Monday to focus on personal matters, the company said.

Leathley departs with immediate effect. He has been a non-executive director and a member of the company's audit committee since December, 2007. Gilbert Clark, an independent director of the company, will replace Leathley as a member of the audit committee.

Leathley will remain on the company's advisory board to advise the company on technical matters.

"On behalf of the board and management of the company, I believe I speak for many in passing on a huge vote of thanks to Gil for his long-term guidance, dedication and wise contributions at the board level," said Michael Hudson, president and chief executive officer.

"I remain thankful Gil will continue to provide guidance to me and the company via the company's advisory board," he added.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson declares best results from Palokas gold project ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/123387/mawson-declares-best-results-from-palokas-gold-project-123387.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) said on Monday it achieved its best result from the Palokas gold project to date and the deepest and best drill result outside of the Finnish site.

The company said that 8.4 metres @ 4.2 g/t gold from 206.0 metres in PAL0016, including 3.4 metres @ 9.5 g/t gold from 211 metres. The true width is interpreted to be approximately 90% of the sampled thickness.

PAL0016 was drilled 350 metres along strike from the main Palokas mineralisation and is the deepest and best result drilled outside of Palokas to date. Mineralization is hosted in a sericite-quartz-pyrrhotite rock which represents a different style to Palokas.

Mineralisation in PAL0016 is hosted in a sericite-quartz-pyrrhotite rock interpreted to be 50 metres lower in the stratigraphy than the Palokas mineralization within a broad +100 metre wide sulphidic-tourmaline-talc-amphibole alteration zone.

The style of mineralisation in PAL0016 matches with boulders and subcrops from the Rumajarvi prospect, located 1,300 metres south. Rumajarvi will be drilled over the next month, Mawson said in a statement.

"We are pleased to see higher grades develop 350 metres from Palokas with 8.4 metres @ 4.2 g/t gold in PAL0016," said Michael Hudson, President and chief executive officer at Mawson.

"More importantly our recent drilling has provided confirmation that Palokas consists of a large, gold-bearing hydrothermal system with multiple alteration styles that affect numerous intervals in a thick stratigraphic package. Drilling continues," he added.

The company said that the remainder of the winter drill programme will target the area located 1,000 to 1,200 metres south of Palokas, as well as a series of drill hole fences through the 400-metre-long by 100-metre-wide Rumajarvi boulder field.

Mawson shares, prior to being suspended earlier pending news, had traded at up 4.26% at C$0.25.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources reveals Palokas drill results ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/122937/mawson-resources-reveals-palokas-drill-results-122937.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW, OTCMKTS:MWSNF) has told investors that the first four holes from the Palokas prospect have all intersected the mineralized sequence.

It added, however, that only lower tenor gold mineralisation has been discovered down-dip and along strike from previous drilling.

"While we would have preferred a stronger start to the winter drill program at Palokas, we remain mindful these holes are only the start of the first deeper drilling program that tests an extensive gold-bearing system,” said Michael Hudson, Mawson chief executive.

“Our targeting methods using the low resistivity IP and VTEM geophysics are working and clearly define the mineralized host horizon, which we have now drilled over 1,000 metres of strike and intersected in every drill hole.”

Hudson added: “As always, high-grade gold distribution is complex, and our drilling continues to help build up a picture of this extensive gold system."

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources expects first assays from Palokas within two weeks ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/121487/mawson-resources-expects-first-assays-from-palokas-within-two-weeks-121487.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) updated on its drilling programme at the Palokas gold project in Finland, where first assays will be reported within two weeks.

One of the two rigs began turning last month; the other has been set up for testing at Hirvimaa and is planned to begin at Palokas next week, the firm said.

So far, two holes for 359.9 metres have been completed - one at Hirvimaa and the second - at Palokas.

Mawson president and chief executive Michael Hudson said: "The start of drilling has been a little slower than anticipated due to some very cold weather after the Christmas and New Year break.

"Our focus has been to ensure the Energold rigs are environmentally compliant, and we are now well placed with 2 rigs to continue drilling 24 hours a day, 6 days a week at Palokas."

The firm also noted that drilling can proceed until mid-April without interruption, as a permit was recently received to allow drilling close to an eagle's nest that is located within the drill plan area.

Mawson, along with all environmental authorities, says it's ensuring all parts of the exploration are undertaken with minimal environmental impact.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources starts drilling at Palokas ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/120666/Mawson-Resources-starts-drilling-at-Palokas-120666.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) has kicked off a 4,000 metre drill program at its Palokas gold project in Finland.

The company said two rigs have been mobilized and will be drilling for the next two months, with local Finnish employees forming the majority of the work gang, operating in two 12 hour shifts each day, six days a week.

It is expected the first pass program will test down to 250 vertical metres.

The primary target for this program is the Palokas Prospect, which will be drilled at a nominal drill spacing of 80 metres, with the aim to prepare and announce the first mineral resource on the property in the second quarter of 2016.

In addition, a three dimensional induced polarization and resistivity survey (3D IP/resistivity) has commenced at Palokas. The survey will extend coverage over the Palokas area to 2.7 kilometres and provide additional drilling targets for current drill program.

Meanwhile, final results have been received for the last three Winkie rig drill holes PRAJ0115-PRAJ0117, completing a nine hole 779.4 metres hand-portable summer drill program at Palokas, the company revealed.

PRAJ0115 was drilled north of the low resistivity body that hosts mineralisation and did not intersect significant mineralisation, but on PRAJ0016 drilling intersected two metres at 2.8 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 66.5 metres, while on PRAJ0117 drilling intersected three metres at 1.6 g/t gold from 65.8 metres, one metre at 0.8 g/t gold from 70.6 metres, one metre at 3.7 g/t gold from 75.3 metres and three metres at 1.9 g/t gold from 1090.9 metres.

Compared to earlier drill holes, only lower grades were intersected in the last three drill holes, but the company was encouraged to see the continued strong association of gold-bearing rocks with the low resistivity body, that extends 500 metres south of the drilled area at Palokas, as well as the broader zone of mineralisation encountered in PRAJ0117.

"After closing our financing two weeks ago, we look forward to executing our drill program and testing the Palokas system down dip and along strike with larger diameter and deeper drill core. Our objective is to calculate the first mineral resource at Palokas in Q2 2016," said Mariana Bermudez, president and chief executive officer of Mawson.

"Existing 3D IP/resistivity data from Palokas have provided an effective gold targeting dataset due to the strong correlation between gold-bearing rocks and low resistivity areas. The extension to this geophysical coverage from 800 metres to 2.7 kilometres along the strike of mineralisation will greatly aid in targeting drill holes to the north and south of the immediate Palokas system," she added.

Shares were unchanged in late morning trading in Toronto.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources' placing allows it to further drill plans ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/120010/mawson-resources-placing-allows-it-to-further-drill-plans-120010.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) said it had closed a previously announced private placing, bringing in around $3.14mln gross, which will allow it to advance drill plans in Finland.

The group, whose flagship property is the Rompas gold project, issued around 15.7mln units at 20 cents each, with each unit consisting of one share and one-half of one share purchase warrant.

Net proceeds will be used to drill at the property aiming to complete a resource estimate in Q2, 2016, and for general working capital.

Chief executive Michael Hudson told investors: "What remains universal in our industry is that exploration lays the foundation for all value creation.

A large-scale gold discovery with high grades, at surface, in a good jurisdiction has the potential to withstand the normal cycles in our business.

We are fortunate to have shareholders that realised this potential early on during the discovery process at Rompas-Rajapalot.

"Since then we have all persisted during the long Finnish permitting process to get drill rigs onto site. A huge vote of thanks goes out to all participants.

"Post financing, Mawson will hold in excess of C$6 million cash which allows us to continue confidently with our drill plans, with the aim to work towards the first resource calculation on the property during the first half of 2016."

Each share purchase warrant is exercisable to buy one further share at $0.30 for two years until Dec 2, 2017.

Directors, including Hudson, and Mark Saxon participaterd in the cash call.

The gold mineralisation at the property remains open in all directions, while tests on the core have demonstrated excellent extraction of between 95% and 99% (average 97%), the company said.

The first hole of the current programme returned 19 metres at 5.3 grams per tonne(g/t) from 38.7 metres, while the immediate up dip results have included 19.6 metres at 7.5 g/t gold from 18.1 metres.

Drilling is continuing at the site with the anticipated programme until the end of October to consist of up to 12 holes.

Michael Hudson, the group's president and chief executive, said: "This is another great outcome for our investors and the fourth +100 grade thickness (g/t x m) gold intersection recorded at Palokas within a continuous zone from surface to 50 metres depth, confirming the significance of this discovery.

"Given the encouragement received to date from wide, consistent and high gold grades, we will plan to increase our Winkie-rig capacity at Palokas to 3 to 4 rigs this winter, with the aim to be in a position to calculate the first mineral resource at Palokas in Q2 2016.

"We look forward to releasing further drill results as they become available."

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources calls on Finnish NGO to withdraw false claims ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/110234/mawson-resources-calls-on-finnish-ngo-to-withdraw-false-claims-110234.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) has called on the police to investigate certain accusations that were made against it in a court appeal case in Finland.

The Canadian company wants to know whether the accusations, made by the Lapland district organization of the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation - a non-governmental organization, or NGO - in a recent re-appeal to the Supreme Administrative Court, constitute a criminal act under Finnish Law.

Mawson's request for the police investigation concerns certain contents of the appeal, and not the appeal process itself.

The NGO initially appealed against the Finnish Mining Authority's decision to award Mawson an exploration permit, and when it lost that case it appealed to the Supreme Administrative Court, saying that Mawson had performed deep drilling in Natura 2000 biodiversity areas before the permit was awarded.

Mawson refutes this claim and said that any doubts over its position can easily be verified from public records.

Under Finnish Law, it is a criminal act to even attempt to wilfully mislead a court, and although Mawson has given the NGO ample time and opportunity to retract its accusations, it has not done so, hence the call for the boys in blue to get involved.

These actions have no effect on Mawson advancing under its current permit conditions to drill with man-portable rigs at the Palokas gold discovery.

"We accept it is unusual for an exploration company to request a police investigation to review the actions of an NGO; however, Mawson finds itself in the position where it has no other recourse but to defend itself and the rights of all its shareholders and stakeholders," said Michael Hudson, president and chief executive officer of Mawson.

"Since the appeal was lodged, Mawson has provided multiple opportunities for the NGO to correct their statements. As these requests have been ignored, it appears the NGO's intentions are to delay Mawson's research by all means available. The police investigation request concerns certain contents of the NGO appeal, and not the appeal process itself, which is the NGO's legal right," Hudson said.

<![CDATA[News - NGO appeals to Finnish Supreme Administrative Court to delay Mawson Resources’ updated exploration p ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/108316/ngo-appeals-to-finnish-supreme-administrative-court-to-delay-mawson-resources-updated-exploration-p-108316.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) will continue advancing its exploration program under its current permit conditions after a re-appeal by the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation to delay its updated exploration permit, granted by the Finnish Mining Authority (TUKES) and upheld by the Northern Finland Administrative (NFA) Court. The NGO has exercised its legal right to appeal this ruling to the Supreme Administrative Court.

On May 21, the NFA Court upheld all aspects of Mawson’s exploration permit, entitling the miner to deeper drill rig access within a Natura 2000 biodiversity area during winter conditions. The NGO appealed this decision on June 18 and the Supreme Court could take three to twelve months to handle the appeal.

But, given the case’s impact on the livelihoods of many local people, Mawson will apply for the Court to hear the appeal as quickly as possible.

The NFA Court endorsed the permit granted to Mawson, which was fully backed by all environmental authorities, to allow deeper drilling at the highly prospective Palokas gold project, which enjoys strong support from the local Ylitornio and Lapland community.

Meanwhile, Mawson will continue drilling from August 1, at the end of an EU mandated bird nesting exclusion period, under its current permit conditions, a program not affected by the re-appeal. It has the right to drill with man-portable rigs to test the Palokas gold discovery, which has so far delivered 19.6m at 7.5 g/t gold from 18.1 metres using the Winkie hand portable drill rig.

"Mawson will continue to work alongside all authorities and local people to drill the Palokas gold discovery, according to our current permit conditions. Despite establishing significant goodwill over the last 18 months with the NGO, I am disappointed they have chosen to re-appeal an unambiguous decision by the lower court. Of course, this is their legal right until the new Finnish Government's New Governmental Coalition Program is enacted. However, over the last year four administrative bodies have found that Mawson's exploration work, carried out as permitted, does not present any significant risks to nature, environment, animals, other livelihoods, or people in Palokas area or its vicinity,” said Mawson’s president and CEO, Michael Hudson.

Mawson suggests that by challenging the NFA Court’s clear and legally binding decision, the NGO is resorting to any means to delay the exploration while failing to consider the opinion of Finnish civil society and the population, which have clearly supported the project.

The recently elected Finnish Government's New Governmental Coalition Program has decided to limit access to the Supreme Administrative Court in environmental and construction matters.

The Supreme Administrative Court will prepare an initial review and draft decision of the appeal to establish questions of law and the facts of the appeal. This will include a compilation of the case file and written submissions and observations from all parties. This process typically takes 3-4 months and can lead to appeal rejection. Should the case continues to the Supreme Administrative Court Chamber, the deliberations and the decision take, on average, a year from the start of the initial review.

Over the last year, four administrative bodies representing the mining and environmental authorities and the Court found that Mawson's exploration work, in accordance with the permit, has not caused any significant risks to the environment, fauna and flora or to any people living in the Palokas area.

Neighboring village associations and the local municipality support Mawson’s project, wanting to see it progress such that it might also serve as a potential future employment base for declining population areas in the Lapland region.

<![CDATA[News - Finnish Court rejects NGO's appeal against Mawson Resources' exploration permit ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/108206/finnish-court-rejects-ngo-s-appeal-against-mawson-resources-exploration-permit-108206.html Shares of Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) jumped 31 percent on Tuesday after the Northern Finland Administrative Court has rejected all claims made by a Finnish NGO in an appeal it made to block its exploration permit granted by the Finnish Mining Authority (TUKES).

In July 2014 the NGO appealed the Finnish mining department’s decision to permit Mawson deeper rig access granted within the Natura 2000 biodiversity areas during winter conditions and hand portable rig access during summer conditions.

The court has reiterated both the earlier exploration permit and the conditions set out by the mining and environmental administration, said Mawson in a statement. But the company’s exploration permit will be legally enforceable until the end of a re-appeal window of time, which closes on June 22, 2015.

"With this decision, the Court has unequivocally endorsed the permit granted to Mawson by the mining authority, which was fully supported by all environmental authorities, to allow deeper drilling at the highly prospective Palokas gold project. The local population continues to show overwhelming support for the project. We believe the NGO should now respect the wishes of the local people and allow Mawson to continue its work, in an environmentally sound way, without further delay. Continued co-operation between all stakeholders will lead to the best outcome for the environment, and importantly, the best outcome for the Ylitornio and Lapland community," said Mawson’s President and CEO, Michael Hudson.

Over the last year, four administrative bodies representing the mining and environmental authorities and the Court found that Mawson's exploration work, in accordance with the permit, has not caused any significant risks to the environment, fauna and flora or to any people living in the Palokas area, said the company in a statement.

Neighboring village associations and the local municipality support Mawson’s project, wanting to see it progress such that it might also serve as a potential future employment base for declining population areas in the Lapland region. Despite support from all levels of the community and the courts, Mawson has suggested that the NGO may file an appeal to the Supreme Administrative Court.

Should the NGO continue to pursue legal avenues, however, it may find the process more challenging because, as Mawson points out, the recently elected Finnish Government's New Governmental Coalition Program, has made it clear that it wants to limit instances where third parties can delay the permitting process. The proposed Program can play a number of ‘cards’ by limiting access to the Supreme Administrative Court in environmental and construction matters and raise fees for appeals to deter parties lacking a strong legal case.

Finnish Law grants a final level appeal to the Supreme Administrative Court. Nevertheless, the ruling has also ratified Mawson’s plans to drill at the Palokas gold discovery, starting on August 1, with the Company's Winkie hand portable drill rig. The program which has already produced results including 19.6m @ 7.5 g/t gold from 18.1 metres, is not subject to re-appeal.

After gaining legal force, Mawson plans to undertake a substantial winter deep diamond drilling program at the Palokas prospect. Mawson’s exploration permit will be valid for a period of 3 years, the maximum time allowable under the Mining Act, while the company can apply to extend this period can be made in 3-year intervals, up to a maximum of 15 years.

Mawson, which has endured a slow permitting process since its first major discovery in Finland more than three years ago, has emphasized in the past that it has worked with all authorities to minimize the impacts of its planned drilling, including the capture of all drill cuttings, reduction in total machine weight and the placement of walkways to reduce foot traffic while creating an inventory and monitoring program for all vegetation.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson extends high grade gold mineralization to greater depth at Palokas ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/106972/mawson-extends-high-grade-gold-mineralization-to-greater-depth-at-palokas-106972.html

Mawson Resources (CSE:MAW) has unveiled results from another 14 high grade near surface drill holes completed at its Palokas prospect at its Rompas-Rajapalot gold project in northern Finland, including 19.6m uncovering 7.5 g/t gold from 18.1 meters in drill hole PRAJ0107.

Gold mineralization was revealed in all directions including 5.0m featuring 24.1 g/t gold from 26.7 meters and 5.1m featuring 3.8 g/t gold from 18.3 metres in drill hole PRAJ0108.

“This is a great result for our investors, and highlights the developing potential of the Palokas discovery. Gold intersections are wide, high-grade and near surface, all providing motivation for our continued optimism for this exciting gold discovery,” said Mawson’s president and chief executive officer Michael Hudson.

Drilling tested beneath earlier intersections demonstrating gold extraction from 95% to 99% from a combination of gravity separation and conventional cyanide methods.

The drill results coincide with a series of near surface geophysical anomalies in a 3.5 kilometer target horizon within a broader 100 square kilometer district of gold mineralization located between the Rompas and Rajapalot project areas.

Mawson will resume use of its new low-impact, hand-portable Winkie diamond core drill rig next August, “along the 3.5 kilometers of prospective strike around Palokas, as defined by elevated gold in drilling and surface samples with co-incident geophysical responses," Hudson said.

Mawson, which has endured a slow permitting process since its first major discovery in Finland more than three years ago, has emphasized in the past that it has worked with all authorities to minimize the impacts of its planned drilling, including the capture of all drill cuttings, reduction in total machine weight and the placement of walkways to reduce foot traffic.

This is because roughly 20 percent of the 10,000 hectares claimed at Mawson's Rompas-Rajapalot Finland project are defined as EU biodiversity Natura 2000 areas, meaning that there are limitations on certain exploration methods that can be completed.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson finds "compelling" target down plunge from Palokas ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/105922/mawson-finds-compelling-target-down-plunge-from-palokas-60432.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) said it has extended its Palokas prospect in Finland via a 3D induced polarization survey, which has revealed a "compelling" target down plunge from known mineralization.

The company, in a statement released earlier Monday, said a 600-metre long conductive anomaly has been defined, extending down plunge from drilled near surface mineralization.

The thickness of the anomaly increases with depth, and is open below the 250-metre depth of the survey, according to Mawson's release.

In addition, final results from near-surface, investigative drilling returned an intercept of 0.3 metres grading 49.6 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, 1000 metres from the Palokas prospect. These results are located above the conductive body defined by the 3D survey, Mawson said.

The company is expecting the delivery of a hand portable diamond drill this week to extend its drill depth capacity to 120 metres. The drilling, which remains subject to final permitting, is planned to start in April, to test below the known gold mineralization.

"Our new hand portable rig with extra depth capacity will advance our understanding of the 1.2km long Palokas mineralized system below the 30 metres depth we have tested to date," said president and chief executive officer, Michael Hudson.

The 3D IP survey completed at Palokas started more than 250 metres north of the target, to 500 metres south of the prospect.

Roughly 20 percent of the 10,000 hectares claimed at Mawson's Rompas-Rajapalot Finland project are defined as EU biodiversity Natura 2000 areas, meaning that there are limitations on certain exploration methods that can be completed.

The company --- which has had to undergo a slow permitting process since its first major discovery in Finland four years ago -- has emphasized in the past that it has worked with all authorities to minimize the impacts of its planned drilling, including the capture of all drill cuttings, reduction in total machine weight and the placement of walkways to reduce foot traffic.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson wraps up geophysical survey at Palokas to identify deeper drill targets ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/105022/mawson-wraps-up-geophysical-survey-at-palokas-to-identify-deeper-drill-targets-59220.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) says it has completed a 3D induced polarization geophysical survey at its Palokas prospect in Finland, with results still pending.

The survey covers an area of 750 metres in strike length and 600 metres in width. The goal is to identify deeper diamond drilling targets beneath near-surface mineralization found by hand portable drilling, the type of drilling Mawson is allowed to use under current regulations.

This is because roughly 20 percent of the 10,000 hectares claimed at Mawson's Rompas-Rajapalot Finland project are defined as EU biodiversity Natura 2000 areas, meaning that there are limitations on certain exploration methods that can be completed.

"We remain active in the field in Finland with both near-surface, hand portable drilling and geophysical surveying and processing continuing during January 2015," said president and chief executive officer Michael Hudson.

"The IP survey covers the Palokas prospect that contains the strongest near-surface mineralization discovered to date, along the 1.2 kilometre mineralized trend, where hand portable drilling results have included 19.5 metres @ 7.4 g/t gold from 1.3 metres depth."

Geophysical testing last year showed the geophysical response of mineralization continues to more than 150 metres depth, with this latest survey expected to help in defining deeper drilling targets below near surface mineralization.

The company also said drill testing of more shallow targets 400 metres south of Palokas, also with a hand portable rig, is still ongoing, and is expected to be completed soon.

Mawson is awaiting the result on an appeal made by an NGO group against a decision by Finnish mining authorities last July to grant the company full drill access during winter conditions within Natura 2000 biodiversity areas. The modified claims would cover 1,462 hectares on its Rajapalot project in Finland.

A decision on the appeal is expected this year; subject to the decision, the plan is to undertake a winter deep diamond drilling program at Palokas, Mawson said.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources boosts Palokas prospect strike length fourfold ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/104709/mawson-resources-boosts-palokas-prospect-strike-length-fourfold-58827.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) has unveiled results from another 14 shallow drill holes completed south of its Palokas prospect at its Rompas-Rajapalot gold project in Finland, extending the prospect's strike length to 1.2 kilometres.

The drill holes were conducted with a low impact, hand-portable drill rig, the company said, with highlighted intersections including 3.9 metres at 3.2 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 23 metres and 3.4 metres of 2.0 g/t gold from 14 metres.

The new holes represent a fourfold increase in the drilled gold mineralization from Palokas as compared to the 300 metres strike length reported in October, Mawson said.

Strike width of mineralization also increased up to 120 metres, suggesting possible multiple horizons across strike, it added.

Adding to this, all discoveries remain open along strike and at depth.

"New near surface drill results using our own low-impact drill rig have significantly expanded the footprint of the Palokas mineralizing system in both strike (1.2 kilometres) and width (120 metres)," said president and chief executive officer Michael Hudson.

"A large and complex hydrothermal overprint of the metamorphosed rocks in the Rajapalot area is now recognized."

The CEO said that the Palokas prospect currently remains the strongest near surface mineralization along the trend. Near surface testing with the hand portable rig has revealed a considerable strike length of similar alteration, he explained, with "lower but consistent" gold grades over a much larger area.

Drilling was conducted in an area covered by 2-5 metre thick glacial till deposits, with a total of 33 holes completed thus far in the 2014 fall/winter program. Drilling is continuing, Mawson said, while the company awaits final permits to deep drill test below 30 metres vertical depth.

Mawson --- which has had to undergo a slow permitting process since its first major discovery in Finland more than three years ago -- has emphasized in the past that it has worked with all authorities to minimize the impacts of its planned drilling, including the capture of all drill cuttings, reduction in total machine weight and the placement of walkways to reduce foot traffic.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson appoints Finland-focused environmental specialist to advance development ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/104156/mawson-appoints-finland-focused-environmental-specialist-to-advance-development-58093.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) has appointed environmental specialist Noora Raasakka as the company's environmental leader in Finland.

Raasakka is a forestry engineer, with a master's degree in landscape management, and has developed a strong background with the Finnish environmental administration, the company said.

She was mostly recently working for the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment for Lapland in the nature protection unit as a project manager for a program to develop biodiversity and ecological connections between Natura 2000 sites.

Roughly 20 percent of the 10,000 hectares claimed at Mawson's Rompas-Rajapalot Finland project are defined as EU biodiversity Natura 2000 areas, meaning that there are limitations on certain exploration methods that can be completed.

"The appointment of Noora gives Mawson a unique opportunity to expand our sustainable development work and move it to a higher level in Finland," said president and chief executive officer, Michael Hudson.

"Noora has a strong ecological background and brings to this position 20 years of experience in the Finnish environmental administration focusing on biodiversity and ecological issues.

"With this appointment, we can bring a sustainable future closer to reality by actively generating economic growth based on environmentally responsible and socially acceptable behaviours and actions."

As environmental leader, Raasakka will set environmental policy with Mawson's senior management, and will be responsible for environmental monitoring and management plans, the company said.

Specifically, she will look to identify and manage key environmental risks associated with Mawson's projects and ensure environmental factors are effectively addressed and managed on time and within scope.

Recently, Mawson revealed gold extraction rates of up to 99 percent from its Palokas prospect at its Rompas-Rajapalot project after receiving results from preliminary metallurgical tests.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson sees up to 99% gold extraction rates from Palokas prospect in Finland ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/103862/mawson-sees-up-to-99-gold-extraction-rates-from-palokas-prospect-in-finland-57701.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) has unveiled gold extraction rates of up to 99 percent from its Palokas prospect at its Rompas-Rajapalot project in Finland after receiving results from preliminary metallurgical tests.

The company said gold extractions results of between 95 and 99 percent were obtained, with an average of 97 percent, by a combination of gravity separation and conventional cyanidation.

The work indicates gold recovery and processing are potentially amenable to conventional industry standards, Mawson said, with a flowsheet which could include crushing and grinding, gravity recovery and cyanide leaching with gold recovery via a carbon-in-pulp circuit for production of on-site gold dore.

"This is a significant outcome," said president and chief executive officer, Michael Hudson.

"Although we have seen visible gold in hand specimens and thin sections, it is encouraging to see that these results demonstrate gold extraction at Palokas is amenable to a conventional flowsheet with up to 99% recoveries."

The metallurgical testing was based on four composite samples from drill holes, which were sent to SGS Mineral Services UK in Cornwall. The next phase of work will seek to review mineralogical gold deportment, whole ore cyanidation, complete gravity recoverable gold tests and more, Mawson said.

Earlier this month, the junior gold explorer unveiled the results of the first six shallow drill holes completed south of its Palokas prospect in Finland, saying they have tripled the footprint of the target. This was the first time the company had the opportunity to drill across the entire Palokas trend at Rajapalot, with drilling having begun about 300 metres south of Palokas where core sample results last year returned 19.5 metres grading 7.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.

The company said Tuesday that drilling with the low impact core sampler continues up to 1km south of Palokas.

Mawson --- which has had to undergo a slow permitting process since its first major discovery in Finland more than three years ago -- emphasized it has worked with all authorities to minimize the impacts of its planned drilling, including the capture of all drill cuttings, reduction in total machine weight and the placement of walkways to reduce foot traffic.

It reported today an update on its dealings with certain Finnish environmental authorities relating to work completed during its 2010 and 2011 field programs, involving allegations that Mawson's hand digging affected the nature values of the area. It said a full hearing is scheduled in early November, with the company noting how pleased it is that the case has advanced after four years through formal legal processes.

The junior explorer has always maintained that hand digging had no material impact on the nature values in question. Roughly 20 percent of the 10,000 hectares claimed at its Finland project are defined as EU biodiversity Natura 2000 areas, including Palokas, meaning that there are limitations on certain exploration methods that can be completed.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources raises over $3mln for Rompas-Rajapalot exploration ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/103642/mawson-resources-raises-over-3mln-for-rompas-rajapalot-exploration-57396.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) says it has closed the non-brokered $3.0 million private placement financing it announced last month to advance exploration at its Rompas-Rajapalot project in Finland.

The company issued 9.12 million units at a price of 33 cents apiece, with every unit consisting of one common share and one half of a share purchase warrant. Each warrant can be used to acquire one additional common share of Mawson at a price of 50 cents, for a period of two years from the date of closing.

Mawson said that Sentient Global Resources, which is part of a group of funds that is an existing shareholder of the company, subscribed for 3.03 million units under the placement, for total proceeds of $1.0 million. Sentient Group now holds 34.7 percent of the company on a partially diluted basis, when taking into account the full exercise of warrants issued under the placement.

Earlier this month, the junior gold explorer unveiled the results of the first six shallow drill holes completed south of its Palokas prospect in Finland, saying they have tripled the footprint of the target, which is part of the company's Rompas-Rajapalot gold project.

This is the first time the company had the opportunity to drill across the entire Palokas trend at Rajapalot, with drilling having begun about 300 metres south of Palokas where core sample results last year returned 19.5 metres grading 7.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.

The plan is to continue to drill south-southwest of Palokas, with a total of 25 sites aimed to be tested until the end of October.

"These are early days, with our drilling testing no more than 20-30 metres vertically from surface, and more than 3.5 kilometres of strike potential at Rajapalot that remains to be tested," said chief executive Michael Hudson in a statement released last week.
