Kootenay Gold’s Greatest Hits
Kootenay Hit’s 471 gpt Silver, 9.42% Lead+Zinc over 18 Meters in NE Zone and 118 gpt Silver, 0.76% Lead+Zinc Over 17 Meters in SW Zone at Promontorio
Kootenay Gold Inc. (TSX.V: KTN | US: KOOYF) announced significant assay results today from 6 drill holes on its Promontorio Silver Project in Sonora, Mexico.
“The Company reports the multi-rig diamond drilling program continues to yield high-grade results, while demonstrating continuity of silver mineralization in the top priority Southwest and Northeast zones across the property’s central 1km mineralized corridor.”
Highlights of Northeast (NE) Zone drilling include:
- DH 110 in the Northeast Zone hits 18 meters of 471 gpt Silver, 9.42% Lead+Zinc within 71 meters of 149 gpt Silver, 3.46% Lead+Zinc
- The high-grade intercept in DH 110 included 4.5 meters of 646 gpt Silver, 11.67% Lead+Zinc and a separate 4 meter interval of 667 gpt Silver, 9.21% Lead+Zinc
Highlights of Southwest Zone drilling include:
- DH 106 hits 535 gpt Silver, 3.29% Lead+Zinc over 4 meters
- DH 105 hits 17 meters of 118 gpt Silver, 0.76% Lead+Zinc In the Southwest Zon
- DH 105 included two higher grade intervals of 310 gpt Silver, 1.91% Lead+Zinc over 4 meters and 287 gpt Silver and 1.48% Lead+Zinc over 2 meters

“We continue to encounter multiple high-grade silver intercepts in the Northeast Zone and the Southwest Zone which once again underscores the strength and large upside potential of Promontorio’s diatreme breccia hosted mineral system. We could not be more enthused and optimistic with results from the current multi-phase program. Approximately 4000 meters of drilling remain to be completed in the 25,000 meter drill program, following which time geologic modeling and a NI 43-101 resource update will be completed.”

Johnston-Sequoia Commentary:
If we can for a moment reflect on the dark days of 2008 (most would include 2011 as well) we find a company that has consistently found a way to systematically grow the companies 100% controlled lead asset - Promontorio. KTN has rewarded shareholders with a 286% return since its last major correction back in August of 2010. As you can see from the chart above Kootenay not only consolidated its shareholder base in 2011 but also outperformed essentially every silver explorer in Mexico. On December 22, 2010 KTN added Sprott Asset Management (5,960,000 shares) to its shareholder list (representing 13% its 45,400,000 shares issued and outstanding) and has not looked back since. Please see Sprott's take on silver below:
As many of our readers know, Kootenay Gold is our top overall silver pick. As always please do your own due diligence. We are advisors to Kootenay Gold.
