In addition, the Péribonka property completely surrounds the Lavoie property which hosts the historic, high-grade Seru “L” zone uranium-gold deposit. Abitex Resources is earning a 50% interest in Lavoie from Areva Resources Canada and SOQUEM Inc.

Virginia will issue 1.2 million shares to Xemplar Energy in payment, and Xempler will retain a 3% NSR royalty.

Meanwhile, at Big Yellow West, 70 intervals of 1 to 4 meters with grades ranging from 100.3 parts per million (PPM) (0.01%) to 211.0 PPM (0.021%) were also recorded. Table of best results below.

Namibia is known for low grade, large uranium deposits and is 5th largest uranium producer in the world. The country has several well-known mining companies in the uranium space with Rio Tinto at the helm. Rio Tinto’s Rossing Mine produces 7% of all uranium in the world and contributes 26% of Namibian export earnings. Other companies include Paladin Resources’ (Langer Heinrich deposit commenced production in May 2008), Areva (currently fast-tracking the Trekkopje Deposit) and Forsys Metals.

At Big Yellow West, hole RCBYW0019 encountered 22 metres at 110.1 parts per million triuranium octoxide, which included 1 metre at 339 ppm U3O8. Other highlights were RCBYW0024 finding 10 metres at 240.1 ppm, including 2 metres at 469.3 ppm U3O8, while RCBYW0026 encouintered 3 metres at 895.5 ppm which included 1 metre a 1,824.5 ppm.

RCBYE0062 at Big Yellow East found 18 metres 133.3 ppm of which 7 meters showed 203.8 ppm of U3O8.

At Big Yellow Center, results from RCBYC0031 show an intersection of 7 metres at 135.1 ppm, including 1 metre at 309.6 ppm. RCBYC0039 found 7 metres at 142.2 ppm of which 2 metres showed 294 ppm of U3O8.

Chief executive Simon Tam said: “Xemplar’s 2009 drill program continues to meet our expectations. The chemical assay results clearly demonstrate the size potential of our mineralized zones.”

The 2009 drill program is well underway, with definition drilling beginning at three of the eight zones of mineralization. The objective is to begin developing uranium resources.

Exploration drilling will continue with the objective of discovering new zones of mineralization and extending the size of the eight zones of mineralization that have already been discovered, the company added.

Highlights of the 12-hole program include 92 metres of uranium mineralization encountered in the Aluriesfontein Area 3 with aggregate U3O8 grades greater than 100 parts per million, of which a width of 41 metres grading 160.5 ppm and with one metre sections with U3O8 mineralization as high as 609 ppm.

The grades encountered are consistent with the grade of the Valencia deposit in the same geological environment, which is subject to a CDN$579 million takeover offer.

Highlights of chemical assay results from the drill program include 6 metres grading 144.2 parts per million triuranium octoxide from 187 metres to 193 metres, 12 metres grading 115.7 ppm U3O8 from 163 metres to 175 metres, and 6 metres grading 151.5 ppm U3O8 from 139 metres to 145 metres.

Xemplar Energy plans to execute a balanced exploration drill program combining definition and development drilling with the primary objective of defining a resource for its Warmbad project. The exploration program in 2009 will entail:

·    Aggressively continue with surface exploration and drilling at Aluriesfontein, Big Yellow East, Centre and West, Houms River, Girtis, and Gaobis/Energy Ridge to define new zones of mineralization.
