Below are the main news-driven share price movements at 4pm.

RISERS

Xchanging (LON:XCH) up 50%. Support services group Capita and private equity firm Apollo are squaring up in a takeover battle for the back office services supplier.

Legendary Investments (LON:LEG) up 17.5%. Moongpig.com creator Nick Jenkins bought a small stake in Virtualstock Holdings for £58mln. It means the company’s stake is now worth £4mln.

Mosman Oil & Gas (LON:MSMN) up 23%. The STEP acquisition could be “transformative” for the company, broker SP Angel reckons, but it is not the only project worth noting. The broker reiterated its buy recommendation and put its target price at 9p.

Allied Minds (LON:ALM) up 4.2%. Its subsidiary raised US$33.6mln to ramp up expansion of its ClariCore Bopsy product.

 

FALLERS

Playtech (LON:PTEC) down 2.8%. The company said it is meeting with the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) today to discuss issues it has regarding the company’s takeover of Ava Trade.

RISERS

APR Energy (LON:APR) up 83%.  The power plant supplier is facing a takeover bid from a consortium involving its largest shareholder.

Glencore (LON:GLEN) up 13.5%. Shares soared as traders bid up the company by its biggest ever daily gain on talk that it will sell its agricultural business.

AFC Energy (LON:AFC) up 7.8%. The company has supplied the first electricity from its new fuel cell facility in Stade in Germany into the local power grid.

 

FALLERS

Cloudbuy (LON:CBUY) down 26.7%. Trading in the company’s shares has resumed following the appointment of Arden Partners as the company's new nominated adviser.

Adamas Finance Asia (LON:ADAM) down 17.9%. The company has agreed to pump US$3mln into the Greater China Credit fund, managed by its subsidiary Adamas Global Alternative Investment Management, the second investment it has made taking the total to US$4mln.

Hargreaves Services (LON:HSP) down 14.8%. The company said it is willing to look at any viable plan to stop its coke ovens being destroyed at Redcar. It added that the thermal coal market remains tough as it continues to close operations.

RISERS

Milestone Group (LON:MSG) up 32.5%. The group’s joint venture Nexstar, with Black Cactus Holdings, with brand manager Procurement International for its platform to send digital content to its customers.

Europa Oil & Gas (LON:EOG) up 18.4%. The company said it remains committed to increasing its portfolio in Ireland and onshore UK. Oil exploration group Kosmos recently withdrew from a partnership with the company offshore Ireland, but Europa said it is determined to expand its position in the country.

Airan Silver (LON:AGQ) The Mexico-focused miner said the latest mineral resource for its flagship San Jose project confirmed the potential for the site to be expanded.

 

FALLERS

Alexander Mining (LON:AXM) down 27.8%. The firm raised £420,00 from the issue of 105mln shares and added that the mining market remains tough, but is confident that is turning a corner.

Hardide (LON:HDD) down 10.8%. The company said the second half has been “softer” than expected so far. Shares dropped despite the company reporting a record first half and confirming it is in line with expectations.

LGO Energy (LON:LGO) down 10.5%. The company raised £1mln from the issue of 111mln shares for working capital and to start work on the Goudron Sandstone program.
