We start the week with the news that engineer Hayward Tyler Group (LON:HAYT) has unveiled plans to acquire Peter Brotherhood, a UK maker of steam turbines and gas compressors, for US$15mln.

Funded via a US$21.5mln (£14mln) new debt facility provided by Royal Bank of Scotland, it is buying the business from an arm of German industrial giant Siemens.

Speaking of deals, LGO Energy (LON:LGO) has agreed a new deal with Beach Oilfield Ltd (BOLT) which sees the company gain exposure to shallow oil resources  in the South West Peninsular projects in Trinidad.

A prior arrangement saw the shallow resources and deep resources separated, with LGO taking the latter.

Elsewhere in the energy space, AFC Energy  (LON:AFC) passed its tenth milestone at the KORE alkaline fuel cell by commencing temporary operation of an entire tier of eight fuel cell cartridges.

The miners were out in force today, with Caledonia Mining (LON:CMCL) reporting it produced 10,927 ounces of gold from its Blanket mine in southern Zimbabwe during the third quarter of 2015, a 5% increase on the previous quarter and a 10% increase on production in the corresponding period in 2014.

Meanwhile, a new report on the coal mine part of Kibo Mining's (LON:KIBO) Mbeya coal to power project has shown "significantly improved" financials, the Tanzania-focused firm said today.

Sticking with coal, Oracle Coalfields (LON:ORCP) has signed a consortium agreement with the Shangdong Electric Power Corporation of China (SEPCO) for its Thar coal/power project in Pakistan.

Elsewhere, Savannah Resources (LON:SAV) and Rio Tinto (LON:RIO) have extended the long stop date for completion of their Jangamo mineral sands joint venture until 31 March 2016.

From underground, to the sky, and low cost airline Fastjet (LON:FJET) has been granted an Air Service Licence (ASL) by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, a major step towards starting flights within the country.

Fastjet Kenya will now start the application process for an Air Operator Certificate (AOC), which is required to run domestic flights within Kenya.  

Meanwhile, Avation (LON:AVAP), the commercial leasing firm, has delivered a second aircraft to UK carrier Flybe.

Westminster Group (LON:WSG) has further rolled out its airport security services around the globe - striking a long term deal with a country's government owned airport authority.

In the pharma world, Tissue Regenix (LON:TRX) is ahead of schedule with the roll-out of its skin repair product in the US, the med-tech company said.

The regenerative medicine group launched skin graft DermaPure in the US last year and is using both a direct sales force and distributor network to boost sales.

Medical tech firm Rex Bionics (LON:RXB) is making commercial progress, it said, having sold three of its Rex robots in the six months to September, compared to none in the same period last year.

Elsewhere, in the tech space, ClearStar (LON:CLST), which provides technology and services to the background check industry, said the underlying fundamentals of the business remained strong as it confirmed second half trading had been in line with market forecasts.

Accesso (LON:ACSO), the virtual queuing and tech specialist, has appointed US patent specialist Dominion Harbor to carry out  a licensing campaign for the AIM firm's intellectual property.

Mobile Streams (LON:MOS) revealed its diversification strategy was progressing well.

The company is about to launch in India and, in the past financial year, it managed to turn a profit despite a large drop in revenue.

Finally, Minds + Machines (LON:MMX) has told investors that the launch of the new .Miami web domain has been highly successful.

Some 8,000 web sites were registered onto the .Miami domain in the first seven days following the launch, the AIM quoted web domain firm said. The success follows a co-ordinated marketing campaign with GoDaddy and HelloDotMiami, which is specialised for Spanish language registrations.
