Atlantis Resources hires project development director

"Cameron is a well-respected, high profile industry figurehead," Tim Cornelius said.

Atlantis Resources (LON:ARL) told investors it has hired Cameron Smith as director of project development.

Smith was formerly chief operating officer of Mainstream Renewable Power, a global wind and solar company, where he had full commercial responsibility for the operation of offshore business.

He is a chartered electrical engineer, with expertise in marine contracting and utility asset management, and is currently on the board of Scottish Renewables.

"Cameron is a well-respected, high profile industry figurehead and a quality individual,” said Atlantis chief executive Tim Cornelius.

“He has a history of successful project development and an unrivalled pedigree of operational experience, insight and knowledge of the renewable energy and power generation sectors in the UK. Cameron will be a huge asset at a truly exciting juncture in Atlantis' development.”

Smith will be a member of the group’s executive management group, based in Edinburgh, and Cornelius highlights that he will play a crucial role in the MeyGen and Sound of Islay projects.
