Arht Media shares jump after Asia appointment

Shares of Canadian human holograms maker Arht Media (CVE:ART) advanced 6.5% on Tuesday after the company announced an Asian adviser's appointment and lifted the lid on the company's ambitions in the Asia-Pacific region.

Dr. Simon Leung has been appointed to Arht Media's advisory board. Leung is currently the vice-chairman of NetDragon Websoft Inc., the chief executive officer of Huayu Education Technology and the chairman of the board of Promethean World Ltd.

Leung's 30-year record in the Asia Pacific region includes overseeing the growth of Motorola Asia Pacific, as well as being the former chairman and chief executive officer of Microsoft's greater China region.

"We look forward to working with Dr. Leung on the incredible opportunities opening up for Arht in the Asia Pacific region," said Paul Duffy, Arht Media chief executive officer.

The shares hit an intraday high of C$0.25, up 2 cents or 6.52%.
