SmartWall is a real time service that wards off security threats.

Corero Network Security PLC (LON:CNS) has won its first order for the SmartWall Threat Defense System from a German regional service provider.

The sale, valued at US$300,000, follows a proof-of-concept trial with the customer using real time protection against distributed denial (DDoS) attacks.

Corero has landed a series of similar orders, allowing it to build a significant user base for SmartWall.

"The German market is an important target for Corero, being the largest economy in Europe,” said chief executive Ashley Stephenson.

“Corero DDoS protection is already used by several hosting providers in Germany and we have seen DDoS attacks on German networks increase over the past year.

“This deal, at more than twice the size of previous contracts, represents our first regional service provider win. We are confident we can continue to grow our market share in Germany."
