NQ Exploration recovers old drill core from Carheil to assess potential

NQ Exploration (CVE:NQE) said Tuesday it has recovered drill core from old holes completed at its Carheil property in Quebec to further assess the potential of the site.
The old drill core are from eight holes completed by BHP Billiton in the 1990s, but were only partially sampled, even in areas of silver enrichment, NQ said.
According to NQ, based on the results received to date from its last drilling program, there is increasing evidence that the silver-rich zones intercepted over the past two years at the Nordest showing on Carheil are still present, and are high-grade near surface.
The company said the new evidence has prompted it to re-examine the old drill core. One of these holes returned 1.16% zinc and 39.7 g/t silver over a 14.1 metre intersection.
The review of information is expected to provide a better understanding of the mineralized zones at Nordest, which has shown potential for silver-rich zones over seven metres wide, and gold-rich zones more than five metres wide.
The work will be done in the coming weeks, and the additional results should be received in June, when the company plans to start another drilling program of several thousand metres.
