Mobile payments firm Bango PLC (LON:BGO) has hired Gianluca D'Agostino as its new independent non-executive director.

D'Agostino replaces Dr Rudy Burger, who is stepping down after six years on the board.

“Gianluca's knowledge and experience of content marketing and monetization align well with Bango's growing, global market.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Gerry and Rudy for their contributions to Bango as directors, and I look forward to continuing to work with them in their new roles as we develop Bango's business in new markets across the world."

D'Agostino said; "I greatly admire Bango's strong leadership position in the industry and I am energised by the opportunity to contribute to Bango's future success in the capacity of a non-exec director.
