West Red Lake Gold Mines Inc (CSE: RLG,OTCQB: RLGMF)  told investors that the next phase of drilling at its project of the same name in Ontario, Canada is planned to begin at the end of the month.

The firm's 3,100 hectare property hosts three former producing mines and lies just 20km from Goldcorp's Red Lake mine

The former producers are the Rowan, Red Summit and Mount Jamie mines.

The latter two are owned 100% by the company, while Rowan is 40% owned by joint venture and funding partner Goldcorp.

West Red Lake said an initial hole will be drilled to test what's called the "Structural Intersection" target 1.5 km east of the Rowan Mine Zones.

In addition, several holes ranging from 50 to 150 metres deep will be drilled into the Mount Jamie Mine zones which appear to be geologically similar to the Rowan Mine zones.

Deeper drilling to extend the Rowan Mine zones to depth is planned in future work programs, the group added.
