A look at some of the morning's big movers

RISERS

Boston Beer Company Inc (NYSE:SAM), up 16% at US$157.10.

The maker of the halfway decent Samuel Adams beer saw second quarter revenue rise 1% to US$247.9mln, while net income rose US$2.5mln from a year earlier to US$29.1mln.

"We are happy that our total company depletion trends have significantly improved from earlier in the year, but we remain challenged by the general softening of the craft beer and cider categories and a more competitive retail environment with a lot of options for our drinkers," said Jim Koch, the chairman and founder of the company.

A10 Networks Inc (NYSE:ATEN), up 14% at US$7.17.

Data center solutions provider shares tanked a couple of weeks ago on a disappointing second quarter trading update but perked up today as the official numbers were released.

“With our marquee customer base and continued innovation, we believe we are establishing a strong foundation to penetrate these faster-growing markets and drive growth and shareholder value," said Lee Chen, president and chief executive officer of A10.

FALLERS

Eros International PLC (NYSE:EROS), down 17% at US$10.85.

The Indian film distributor's fourth quarter results were nothing to make a song and dance about in the opinion of the market, despite the company bragging about a 38% increase in paying subscribers to 2,9mln in the three months to the end of June.

Ellie Mae Inc (NYSE:ELLI), down 16% at US$92.315.

The provider of on-demand software solutions and services for the residential mortgage industry was not the stock to bet your house on this morning.

The shares slumped as the company warned of changes and hard times in the mortgage market.
