20,000 QSRs generates $24 billion in annual revenue

Dragontail Systems Ltd (ASX:DTS) has signed a landmark agreement with Cara Operations (TSE:CARA), one of the largest restaurant operators in Canada.

The agreement will see Dragontail install key parts of its Algo platform in circa 300 restaurants, with completion of this initial phase expected through the first quarter of 2018.

The Algo platform is a patented food preparation and delivery optimisation solution.

Cara is one of Canada’s largest restaurant operators with over 1,200 restaurants and 14 restaurant brands.

These brands include Swiss Chalet, which was founded in 1954, and has over 200 restaurants, and East Side Mario’s which focuses on family Italian dining.

Both Swiss Chalet and East Side Mario’s are located throughout Canada and offer dine in, take-out and delivery experiences.

The Algo system’s ability to manage large volumes of orders, food preparation tasks and delivery data makes it well suited for Cara’s operations.

Dragontail is in the process of expanding its footprint in Canada, beyond the quick service restaurant category into the fast casual and dine-in categories.

Canada represents a significant market opportunity for Dragontail, with more than 20,000 QSRs generating $24 billion in annual revenue.

Dragontail’s shares were last trading circa 4% higher intra-day, at $0.25.
