Environmental approval provides the key to unlocking value at Hellyer gold project

NQ Minerals Plc (AQSE:NQM, OTCQB:NQMLF) now has a clear pathway to production next year with following approval of its environmental management plan for the Hellyer Gold Project in Tasmania, Australia.

Once up and running, the tailings operation is expected to produce 80-90,000 gold equivalent ounces a year for the next decade.

It requires a comparatively modest level of investment and yet contains an estimated £760mln-worth (US$1bn) of gold, silver, lead and zinc.

On the granting of the permit, chairman Brian Stockbridge said: “Coupled with the publication of our recent competent persons report and, subject to the completion of financing, we are confident of bringing into production a project that has significant positive environmental impact."
