US stocks closed lower on Wednesday but going higher in extended hours was KB Home (NYSE:KBH), whose shares added 1.89% to US$35 after the bell as the house builder reported fourth quarter numbers, which soundly beat expectations.

Net income was US$84.3mln - more than doubling the US$37.5mln last year - as the firm benefitted from the strong economy and favourable US housing market.
Elsewhere, Progress Software Corp (NASDAQ:PRGS) surged over 9% after the bell after it too unveiled fourth quarter earnings and revenue that beat Wall Street expectations.
Brink's Co (NYSE:BCO) shares were flat after the bell as the security company announced it would take on cash handling operations in Brazil, with the acquisition of Rodoban for US$145mln.
Shares of Cabot Oil & Gas Corp (NYSE:COG) gushed 2.6% higher in extended trading after the stock closed down nearly 4% during the regular session at US$27.96.
