Murphy says the best may be still to come from the Jundee goldfield

Great Boulder Resources Ltd (ASX:GBR) has commenced exploration at its Jundee South project.

This is situated immediately adjacent to Northern Star Resources’ (ASX:NST) Jundee gold mine in Western Australia.

Field mapping, re-processing of geophysical data and evaluation of previous drilling has generated a new geological model.

Great Boulder has also had recent drilling success at its Mt Venn copper, nickel and cobalt.

Northern Star’s success rubs off

The prospectivity of the Jundee South project is further enhanced by Northern Star’s ongoing exploration success within its Jundee operations.

The company has made new discoveries within the Jundee Dolerite and broader Yandal greenstone belt.

Northern Star’s exploration success has further strengthened Great Boulder’s confidence in the prospectivity of Jundee South.

Stefan Murphy, managing director, said “The outstanding exploration results from Northern Star have demonstrated that despite its world-class history, the best may be still to come in the Jundee Goldfield.

“Our Jundee South project is ideally located between Northern Star’s Jundee underground gold mine located 10 kilometres to the north, and its recent Ramone discovery, 20 kilometres to the south."

Model identifies new targets

Revised modelling has identified several new gold targets within the project which are located along structural and lithological contacts within the Jundee Dolerite.

This has yielded more than 3 million ounces of gold at 10 g/t gold from the total 10 million ounce Jundee gold mine endowment.

Great Boulder is now undertaking a close-spaced, near surface exploration program to test for gold anomalism associated with the Jundee Dolerite on its tenement.
