Canadian cannabis company Crop Infrastructure Corp (CSE:CROP, OTCMKTS:CRXPF) is headed to Jamaica.

The company signed a joint venture deal to acquire a 49% interest in a zero-cost lease of five acres in Westmoreland Parish and is in the process of finding a tenant licensee.

With more than 2.8 million residents and nearly 3 million annual visitors, the marijuana tourism market is estimated to be at US$494bn.

Back in the States, Rhode Island has begun allowing medical cannabis sales to out-of-state patients, according to a Marijuana Business Daily report.

The decision allows visiting patients to purchase medical marijuana, hoping to deter illegal traffic or black market sales.

There are restrictions in place, including the need for two forms of government-issued photo ID, enrollment in a state database that tracks sales and a purchase limit of 2.5 ounces of marijuana every 15 days.

The state’s three dispensaries have reportedly sold cannabis to 112 nonresidents since the new regulation was implemented.
