Xemplar Energy Intersects U3O8 Mineralization Over 18 Metres at Aluriesfontien

Xemplar Energy Intersects U3O8 Mineralization Over 18 Metres at Aluriesfontien

It may not be as fast as markets prefer but clearly the world economy is making a come back. Government stimulus packages and low interest rates have helped boost consumer confidence as well as consumer spending. Commodity prices have also started to gain ground in response to China restocking. Uranium companies are no exception as the end of the recession also marks an increase in demand for energy metals such as uranium.

Against this backdrop, excellent drill results by Canadian Venture, Frankfurt and Namibia listed Xemplar Energy (TSX.V: XE, Frankfurt: E7R, Namibia: XEM) comes as welcome news. Chemical assay results for an additional 18 drill holes from the Company's 2009 drill programme at Aluriesfontein located at its 100% owned Warmbad Uranium project in southern Namibia continues to show widespread uranium mineralisation.

Some drill holes have returned grades as high as 0.04% (Hole DDALU0008) and 0.038% (DDALU0006). The lowest grade has been 0.01 from drill hole DDALU0116. Grades and continuity has prompted considerable optimism over the extent of mineralisation.

In addition to the Aluriesfontein assay results, 62 additional intervals of 1 to 4 meters with grades ranging from 100.3 parts per million (PPM) (0.01%) to 343.6 PPM (0.034%) were also noted, and available on the Company website. This includes assay results for RCALU0112, RCALU0115, RCALU0122, RCALU0124 and RCALU0127.

Brisk development activity in the 2009 drill programme is well underway with the objective to begin developing uranium resources. Exploration drilling continues with the objective of discovering new mineralization zones and further extending the size of the eight zones of mineralization that have already been discovered.

Namibia is known for low grade, large uranium deposits and is 5th largest uranium producer in the world. The country has several well-known mining companies in the uranium space with Rio Tinto at the helm. Rio Tinto’s Rossing Mine produces 7% of all uranium in the world and contributes 26% of Namibian export earnings. Other companies include Paladin Resources’ (Langer Heinrich deposit commenced production in May 2008), Areva (currently fast-tracking the Trekkopje Deposit) and Forsys Metals.
