SilverCrest Mines ()(OTCQX:STVZF) announced Thursday that silver production in the first quarter from its Santa Elena Mine in Sonora, Mexico more than doubled while gold production almost tripled year-over-year.
For the first quarter, silver production jumped 108 percent to 134,528 ounces, from 64,712 ounces a year ago, when the mine, which is now in commercial production, was still in the commissioning phase.
Gold production rose 198 percent to 9,405 ounces from 3,152 ounces in the year-earlier period.

() said Thursday that it has signed a definitive option and joint venture agreement for its White River gold-copper-silver property in the Yukon with Canadian mineral explorer Driven Capital Corp (CVE:DVV).
Under the terms of the deal, Driven can earn a 60 percent interest in White River, by making cash payments to Tarsis of $400,000, issuing 2 million shares and spending $4.25 million in exploration on the project - all by January 15, 2016.
