Tarsis Resources samples bonanza gold and silver values at Prospector Mountain, Yukon

Tarsis Resources Ltd (TSX-V: TCC) said sampling work during Phase III of the 2009 exploration program at its 5,000 hectares Prospector Mountain property, in southwestern Yukon, Canada, has discovered a number of new gold silver and copper showings.

It is calling the showings the Bonanza Zone, and highlights of this include 82.2 grams per tonne of gold, 888 grams per tonne of silver and 5.97 percent copper as well as a sample with 55.7 g/t Au, 1,375 g/t Ag and 7.38 percent Cu.  A further sample showed 14.0 g/t Au, 1,340 g/t Ag and 11.65 percent Cu.

The Bonanza Zone hosts a series of high grade gold-silver-copper showings along a 1,200 metres northwesterly structural trend.

In addition to gold, silver and copper, most samples within the Bonanza Zone also yielded strongly elevated bismuth to values above 1 percent, variably elevated arsenic to 3,490 parts per million, antimony to above 1 percent and lead to 2,400 ppm.

Another gold occurrence referred to as the Hart Showing is situated 1 kilometre southwest of the Bonanza Zone.  Samples collected from this historical exposure returned 5.61 g/t Au, 65.8 g/t Ag, 0.34 percent Cu and more than 1 percent As.

Tatrsis said it is “extremely pleased” with the latest results received from Prospector Mountain and considers them highly significant in the development of the property’s potential.

Additional work is underway to evaluate to the nature of the vein material specifically at the Bonanza Zone.  Tarsis is seeking a joint venture partner or optionee to assist in progressing the exploration of this project.

Other significant properties in the area include Capstone Mining's operating Minto copper mine, 30 kilometres to the northeast, and Western Copper's Carmacks project, currently in the permitting phase for mine operation, 55 kilometres to the southeast. In addition, Northern Freegold Resources is conducting extensive exploration on its Freegold Mountain property, located 15 kilometres to the southeast.

Tarsis is an exploration company following the prospect generator business model, with seven mineral properties in Yukon, Canada, and one in Mexico.  The Company acquires prospective base metal projects when base metal prices are low or of strategic value, and vends or options out projects to partners for advancement.
