Platmin fast tracks Mphahlele feasibility study

Platmin Ltd (TSX & AIM: PPN) announced that a definitive feasibility study for the Mphahlele platinum project is being fast tracked for completion during the third quarter of calendar 2008.

The decision follows notification that the mining right application over the Mphahlele property had been accepted, and also receiving a letter from SRK Consulting recommending that the project be progressed to the next phase.

It is expected that the final mining right for the Mphahlele project will be granted by the end of 2008. A temporary power supply application accepted by Eskom and a permanent power supply application has been lodged with Eskom.

Mr. Ian Watson, Platmin's CEO, said:

“Entering the full feasibility study phase on Mphahlele moves Platmin toward its goal of producing in excess of a combined 500,000 oz of PGMs of production from its two major projects, Mphahlele and Pilanesberg (currentlybeing developed). The first 250,000 oz of PGMs from Platmin's Pilanesberg project is on track to commence production in the first calendar quarter of 2009”
