Platmin (PPN:TSX, AIM) is incorporated in Canada as a mineral exploration company focused on the exploration and development platinum group metal (PGM) deposits in South Africa. Platmin is admitted to trading on the AIM Market of the London Stock Exchange Plc and the TSX.
Platmin aims to be a significant producer of PGMs through the development and operation of four key projects in South Africaís renowned Bushveld Complex - Pilanesberg, MíPhatlele, Grootboom and Loskop.

Platmin appoints Manager of Mining
Platmin ( AIM: PPN ) announced the appointment of Cobus Bronn as Manager of Mining. Mr. Bronn previously spent 15 years with Lafarge South Africa in roles of engineering and operational management in both underground and opencast mines. Platmin said that Mr. Bronn will first focus on the development stage of the Pilanesberg Platinum Group Metals Project on the western limb of the Bushveld Complex.
Chief Operating Officer, Terry Holohan commented:
“Cobus’s extensive operational expertise and experience particularly with open pit mines, will stand us in good stead as we progress our flagship Pilanesberg project, building up to production in the first quarter of calendar 2009. The Pilanesberg feasibility study on the two open pit mines, Tuschenkomst and Ruighoek, was completed in July 2007 and progress toward construction is now firmly on track.”
