Bionomics to present at Ultimate Healthcare & Biotechnology Event, March 24

Leading European investment house Edison Investment Research has provided a new valuation of Bionomics (ASX: BNO) at 55 cents per share.

Current BNO share price is 31 cents.

This was based mainly on "an assessment of the potential economic reward and timelines associated with successful development of BNO's BNC105 compound."

The valuation largely excluded the value of milestone payments, including those potentially receivable from Merck Serono in relation to the Kv1.3 program or from potential licensing deals for BNC105 and BNC210.

The Edison report also contained an overview of recent cancer licensing deals to provide an indication of the potential of a BNC105 licensing deal.

Edison arrived at a value of A$175m for the company based on a risk-adjusted net present value of key programs for BNO.

“VDAs are considered to have significant commercial potential in the treatment of cancer, especially as their mechanism makes them likely to be applicable to a wide variety of solid tumour types”.

“BNC105 is likely to be, in our view, a very attractive asset”. A partnership for BNC105 could generate substantial economic return.”

The Edison report also contained an overview of recent cancer licensing deals to provide an indication of the potential of a BNC105 licensing deal.

Edison Reseach concluded: "This valuation leaves considerable “upside” [for the BNO share price] as Bionomics achieves clinical milestones, as well as commercial milestones."
