Rambler Metals & Mining

Rambler Metals and Mining was established to invest in the base metal sector in politically stable jurisdictions. Its principal project is the Rambler Cu-Au property, located on the Baie Verte Peninsula of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

Currently undergoing a mine dewatering program, Rambler  is well on track to have the mine completely dewatered during Q2 2008. Water levels have already receded to the 1800 level and the mine is in excellent condition requiring minimal rehabilitation.
Location

The Rambler Property is located in Canada, on Newfoundland and Labrador' Baie Verte Peninsula. The area has a history and culture of gold, base metals and industrial minerals mining. The major centre for the region is the town of Baie Verte, which offers several mining and exploration service providers, deep water loading, hotels, schools, shopping, medical facilities and recreational facilities.

Rambler Mining reports more excellent results from Ming Mine

In a market lacking good news, development progress by companies always lift spirits. If development endeavours are rewarded with good drill results, it adds more to the tempo. Canadian venture and London AIM listed Rambler  Metals  and  Mining  plc  (TSXV:  RAB,  AIM:  RMM) announced further  positive  drill  results  from  its  underground  diamond  drilling  exploration  programme  at  the  Ming  Mine.

While the weighted average grades above are indeed impressive, some drill holes yielded excellent grades such as 3.5% copper (RMUG08-79) and 3.47 g/t gold (RMUG08-77 Gold). Other drill holes have also returned good results during the programme.

According to the company, delineation drilling of the Lower Footwall Stringer Zone is making steady progress and has also returned encouraging results.  The envelope of footwall mineralisation is larger than originally modeled from the historic drilling and there appears to be higher grade zones within the lower footwall with better than 2% copper.

In addition to these positive findings, the new footwall drilling has returned elevated gold grades in a number of intersections.  This grade of gold has never been reported in the lower footwall zone and if sizable will have a significant impact on the updated NI43-101 resource statement to be released early in 2009.  Further work is ongoing to determine the extent of this mineralisation and its controlling structures.

Further confirming its commitment, Rambler has already drilled 16,000 metres of the contracted 20,000 metres, with much of the new drilling focused on untested areas between the1800 and 2600 levels.  This new infill drilling has allowed for a better understanding of the nature of the deposit, cross cutting mafic intrusives as well as tighter control of the mineralisation in the footwall zone.

According to George Ogilvie, P.Eng, President and CEO, the underground diamond drilling campaign to date has confirmed the company’s initial assumptions that the Lower Footwall Zone grade is Zone grade is improving with depth. The drill programme is expected to create significant opportunity for further mineralised extension especially since the mine is now de-watered.

Rambler in fact has a drill programme nicely laid out for the ensuing months. According to Ogilvie, the ore block for the Lower Footwall Zone as defined within NI 43-101 is expected to be drilled off on 50m centres producing a resource in the indicated category. The company plans to undertake infill drilling on 25m centres in areas with higher grade to move those resources into the measured category, which then allows a mineable reserve to be calculated. This would also move Rambler one step closer to production.
