Rambler Metals & Mining

Rambler Metals and Mining was established to invest in the base metal sector in politically stable jurisdictions. Its principal project is the Rambler Cu-Au property, located on the Baie Verte Peninsula of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

Currently undergoing a mine dewatering program, Rambler  is well on track to have the mine completely dewatered during Q2 2008. Water levels have already receded to the 1800 level and the mine is in excellent condition requiring minimal rehabilitation.
Location

The Rambler Property is located in Canada, on Newfoundland and Labrador' Baie Verte Peninsula. The area has a history and culture of gold, base metals and industrial minerals mining. The major centre for the region is the town of Baie Verte, which offers several mining and exploration service providers, deep water loading, hotels, schools, shopping, medical facilities and recreational facilities.

Rambler Metals dewaters the Ming Mine

Rambler Metals and Mining plc (TSXV: RAB, AIM: RMM) was finally able to confirm today that it had completed the dewatering of the Ming Copper-Gold Mine in Newfoundland, Canada.

“The completion of the mine dewatering is another key milestone towards Rambler’s goal of bringing the former Ming Mine back into production. The development out to the 1807 Zone will provide Rambler with access to ore grading better than 4% Cu and 2 g/t Au before the end of the year” said George Ogilvie, President and CEO of Rambler.

It has taken Rambler Metals over 1 year to fully remove and treat the 245 million gallons of water. Now that the water is removed, Rambler intends to complete an exploration development drift into the high grade massive sulphide region of the 1807 zone. Exploration of the 1807 zone would also allow Rambler to test the a potential up-plunge extension of the 1806 and 1805 zones which reported gold mineralisation in 1982 during the closing phases of the original mine.

“Importantly these access drifts will also act as exploration platforms to further test the extent of the 1807 zone mineralization which is open both up-plunge and down plunge.”

Development to the 1807 zone will take approximately two months. Rambler also confirmed that it was planning to put the mine back into production on a smaller scale than the scoping study originally looked at. Rather than a larger, more capital intensive 4000 tonnes per day mining operations, Rambler will instead start with a 650 tonnes per day operation targeting the higher grade material in and near the 1807 zone. A bulk sample from the 1807 zone has already been collected for metallurgical test work. Results are expected back before year end.

On the exploration front, two drill rigs are now beavering away, one focusing on plunge extensions of the massive sulphide and new gold zones, and the second continuing with delineation of the Lower Footwall Zone.
