Northern Petroleum’s (LON:NOP) changing of the guard has continued with the appointment of a new chief operating officer.

Paul Lafferty, a thirty-year oil and gas veteran, will join Northern later this month having previously been general manager of E.ON’s exploration and production division.

Keith Bush, Northern’s chief executive, said: "Paul's recruitment has significantly strengthened our production and operations expertise in line with our strategic direction of production led growth."

In another change, Graham Heard, Northern’s exploration and technical director, will retire at the end of 2014 after twelve years at the company.
