Fourth Drill Begins Drilling Columbia Yukon's Storie Deposit
No holding back of development activities at Columbia Yukon Explorations Inc’s (TSX.V: CYU, Frankfurt: VOR.F) Storie” molybdenum property deposit, in northern British Columbia.
Following its commissioning of Consulting Limited to commence phase three of ongoing environmental baseline work, the company has just received a fourth drill rig. The company’s attempts to accelerate the development of Storie project are significant as it confirms its commitment to the project and the management’s intent to add shareholder value. It has been a busy 2007 for CYU and an even busier 2008 is ahead. CYU is presently drilling outside the initial resource area where the resource is open with the intent of significantly increasing the size of the resource.
A total of 7,000 metres, out of a planned 30,000 metres, has been completed thus far this season. Assays are pending. In addition, the Company has also received a draft of an upgraded NI 43-101 resource report for its Storie deposit. The findings of the report are expected to be released shortly after management has completed a full review. Currently the Storie deposit has an NI 43-101 inferred resource of 101.6 million metric tonnes grading 0.067% Mo. The new report was commissioned for the purpose of reclassifying the inferred resource to an indicated resource.
In addition to the Storie project, CYU has 100% interest in Barr Claims (Licence 1506), Labrador, comprising 60 map staked mineral claims covering 15 square kilometres located approximately 90 kilometres north of the Voisey’s Bay nickel. CYU’s other projects include Barnes Creek property, VBE 1 property and VBE – 2 Property. CYU has an Option Agreement with BHR Buffalo Head Resources Ltd with grants the latter the right acquire to a 60% interest in Barnes Creek.
