Orbis Investment Management acquires 2.6m shares in Starpharma Holdings

Substantial shareholder Orbis Investment Management has significantly increased its investment in Australian-listed biotechnology company, Starpharma Holdings (ASX:SPL, OTCQX:SPHRY) with the acquisition of 2,564,237 SPL shares on-market at an average price of $0.64 per share between 21 May to 16 June. 

Orbis lodged the change in interests of substantial holder and now owns 20,809,309 shares or 8.71% of Starpharma.

Starpharma is a market leader in the development of dendrimer products for pharmaceutical, life-science and other applications.

Its partnerships include Durex, Lilly, Elanco, Stiefel (now GSK), Siemens and Merck. Commencement of royalty revenue is estimated to commence in CY11 with VivaGel coated condoms.
