Animas Resources is a North American exploration company with diversified mining interests in Mexico. Building from the historic resource base at the Santa Gertrudis deposit (within a 214 sq. mile concession), the company will strategically expand the near surface and deeper resources to the economic decision points that increase shareholder value. The company also plans to evaluate numerous targets within its 296 sq. Kilo metre Shirley concession with the intent to form joint venture opportunities.
Animas Resources reports significant progress at Golden Arrow project
Animas Resources (TSX-V:ANI) has reported significant progress at the Golden Arrow project in Nevada. In recent weeks the company has completed and filed an updated NI43-101 Technical Report; it has completed a gradient array IP/resistivity survey, an RIP (Reconnaissance Induced Polarity) survey and an IP (induced polarity) survey.
The company has also hired drilling contractors and secured a water supply for an upcoming core and reverse circulation programme, which is due to begin in September.
"Our program at Golden Arrow is to use the extensive geophysical data available including gravity, IP and regional magnetic to help plan and guide the upcoming drilling program designed to identify new centers of gold mineralization as well as test several targets with potential for much larger deposits,”president Gregory E McKelvey commented.
The Golden Arrow property is located in the central Nevada high desert, approximately 60km east of Tonopah, in Nye County, the eastern flank of the Kawich Range and the eastern rim of the Kawich volcanic caldera. Golden Arrow consists of both patented and unpatented mining claims, over 2,300 hectares. Golden Arrow currently contains a NI43-101 Measured and Indicated Mineral Resource of 296,500oz of gold and 4Moz (million ounces) of silver, and an Inferred resource of 50,400oz of gold and 1.2Moz ounces of silver.
On the company’s behalf, Mine Development Associates completed the updated Technical Report, which was subsequently filed on June 9.
The company hired Zonge Geosciences Inc, to conduct a gradient array IP/resistivity survey, which covered 6 defined blocks and totalled 9.3km2. The survey covered the Gold Coin, Hidden Hill, the Page fault, and the geochemical target to the southeast of Confidence Mountain.
Additionally, Durango Geophysical Operations (DGO) has completed an RIP survey of the entire Golden Arrow property. The RIP survey comprised 4 separate set up arrays, one in each of the quadrants of the property, to provide a property-wide test for large, physically distinct, exploration targets.
“Plans for advancing the targets include a review and targeting session in mid-July, integration of all the new data into the existing GIS program, fencing and securing the open cuts, shafts, and holes, and drilling the best targets starting in September,” McKelvey added.
Animas has hired drill contractors - Major Drilling and Envirotech Drilling - for the diamond core and reverse circulation drilling, respectively. Drilling is expected to get underway on September 1 2010.
