NeuLion is an Internet Protocol (IP) television company. The Company provides end-to-end Internet protocol television (IPTV) services. It builds and manages private networks for content owners and aggregators that are used to stream content to multiple platforms through browser-based devices.
NeuLion narrows losses, raises $10m & acquires set-top box business
Yesterday, on-demand internet TV specialist, NeuLion Inc (TSX:NLN) agreed the terms of a $10m fundraising and acquired set-top box manufacturer TransVideo International. Now today, In its Q2 results, NeuLion reported 12% quarter-on-quarter revenue growth, to $7.3m.
Overall for the six-months to June 30th, the company narrowed it losses to $9.2m, compared to a $10.7m loss in the comparative period of 2009. As of June 30th NeuLion held $3.6m in cash and cash equivalents.
The company agreed a $10m private placing, with the JK&B Capital V, the JK&B Capital V Special Opportunities Fund, and Gabriel Battista subscribing for Class 3 Preference Shares.
Separately, NeuLion executed a ‘Share Exchange Agreement’ to acquire TransVideo, in exchange for approximately 22 million common shares.
Along with its content providers, NeuLion develops ‘end-to-end’ multimedia services, its web-based television platform encodes, delivers, stores and manages “an unlimited range of multimedia content”.
The company’s specialty television content partners include the NHL, the NFL and the NCAA Division, as well as international TV aggregators like China’s KyLinTV, the Talfazat and Talfazat-ART Arabic network and South Asia’s TV-Desi.
NeuLion’s content can be viewed over the Internet on PCs and mobile devices, and on the television through IPTV set top box.
