La Mancha increases Ity Gold Mine Resource to 786,500 ounces

La Manch Resources (TSX:LMA) bucked the trend of most equities, adding 2.2%, after the Company reported an impressive 50% increase in the measured and indicated resource at its 45.9% owned Ity Gold Mine in Cote d’Ivoire in West Africa.

La Mancha said that drilling had continued to add ounces in the ground, with the 43-101 compliant resource not standing at 786,500 ounces of measured and indicated gold.  La Mancha also reiterated its target of 2 million ounces at Ity by the end of 2009.  La Mancha’s net share of the Ity Gold Mine resources now stands at approximately 3.16 million tonnes at an average grade of 3.55 grams per tonne, or 361,000 ounces, using a cut-off grade of 2 grams per tonne gold.

To date, La Manch has completed 11,800 metres of drilling at Ity for $2.15 million, or a cost per ounce of gold of only $15, the company said.

"The 120,000 ounces of gold that La Mancha is adding today to its consolidated resources table is another major step towards the Company's goal of a total M&I resource base of two million ounces by the end of 2008. With the resources added at the Frog's Leg and White Foil properties, La Mancha has added 388,141 ounces of gold to its M&I resources, which represents nearly 30% of increase over the 1.3 million ounces of resources that it reported at the end of 2007. Moreover, the assessment of the Hassai mine tailings, which are currently being finalized, should further add to the 2008's discoveries. We are therefore fairly confident of reaching our two-million ounce target."

The company added that it had recently restarted drilling, and planned to complete a further 350 holes totalling 24,600 metres of drill core in 2009.
