Allied Nevada has reactivated the Hycroft Mine and expects to begin gold production in the fourth quarter of 2008, reaching full production capacity in the second quarter of 2009. Once at full capacity, the Mine will produce approximately 100,000 ounces of gold per year.
Allied Nevada produces 1st gold at Hycroft on schedule
Allied Nevada Gold Corp announced on-schedule first production from its run-of-mine, heap leach property, the Hycroft mine, of approximately 1,000 ounces of gold and 3,000 ounces of silver, a combination of dore and carbon, in December 2008.
The capital phase of the Hycroft reactivation project is complete and mining operations are proceeding very well with run-of-mine ore being released from the Brimstone deposit and placed under leach.
Allied Nevada is now in the start-up phase of operation and expects to attain annualized production rates of approximately 90,000 ounces by July 2009. Over the six-month start up period, production will slowly increase as it continues to leach existing ore and place new ore on the pad, the company added.
