Strathmore Minerals

Strathmore Minerals Corp. (TSX-STM.V) is focused on bringing its Gas Hills (Wyoming) Properties into production by late 2009. With it's geological office in Riverton, Wyoming and permitting office in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Strathmore is currently building out its infrastructure towards producing uranium from the prolific Gas Hills region.

The Company's goal is to become a leading uranium producer in the United States. Strathmore has been a uranium company since 1996 and executed its property acquisition strategy when the uranium price was between US $7-15 per lb. Focus has been on the acquisition and development of advanced uranium projects in the two largest uranium producing regions in the United States: the Gas Hills Uranium District in Wyoming and the Grants Mineral District, New Mexico, but were abandoned by the major uranium mining companies during the 1980s and 1990s.

Strathmore Minerals completes baseline study at George Ver Uranium Property

Uranium explorer and developer, Strathmore Minerals Corp (TSX-V: STM) continued to rally off lows hit in the final quarter of 2008, after it reported a wide ranging update on activities in the Gas Hills Uranium District in Wyoming, where it is the largest land holder with some 33,000 acres which includes eight areas of known uranium mineralization.

At the George Ver Property, the company confirmed that its had now completed the required 12 months of baseline environmental data collection required by the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality for a mine permit application.  Strathmore added that it had also completed drilling eight holes, with six of the eight bulk samples sent off for geochemical and geotechnical analysis.  Results from the analysis are expected in the first quarter of 2009.

Permits have also been received for exploration drilling at the Rock Hill and Beaver Rim Properties, valid until 2011.  The Rock Hill project is situated north-east of the George Ver Deposit, and could host an open pit resource, while Beaver Hill is situated only 1/2 mile south of Cameco's own mine permit area.
Strathmore further confirmed that it had extended its option agreement to acquire an existing NRC licence and associated mineral rights over further known mineralization in the Gas Hills Uranium District.  The location of the project has not been disclosed for confidentiality reasons, but Strathmore did state that the licence in question hosts "significant" infrastructure required to operate a mine, and is accessible by a paved highway and hosts power, natural gas and fiber optic lines.
