Shares of Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) slipped in premarket trading Friday, after it reported a decline in first-quarter profits, and despite a slight increase in revenues on sales of its new Windows 8 platform.

Activision Blizzard (NASDAQ:ATVI), the world's biggest video games publisher, beat estimates by eight cents with its second quarter profit of $0.20 per share, and revenue also came in well above consensus.

Zynga (NASDAQ:ZNGA) saw its stock plunge more than 40 per cent this morning, a day after reporting it swung to a second-quarter net loss and missed analyst targets, cutting its earnings view for the year.
