Company Statement:
The probability of discovering large, world-class projects is higher in prospective, newly emergent and transitional environments. Lydian is positioned to leverage and manage emerging environment exploration opportunities. The company has unique capabilities in grassroots discovery, “first mover” strategies in securing assets, and superior management of the complex social and political aspects of these environments.
Currently the company is focused on Eastern Europe. Lydian has developed a diversified portfolio of highly prospective precious and base metal projects at the early and advanced exploration development stage. Lydian’s flagship projects include a promising gold project at Armulsar in Armenia, and zinc-lead-silver-gold at Drazhnje in Kosovo. The Company is also focused on its pipeline of new gold and base metal projects.
Lydian’s joint venture partner is Newmont. Its major investors include Newmont and the International Finance Corporation (part of the World Bank). These relationships help bolster the Company’s competitive advantage while mitigating geopolitical risk.
Lydian benefits from the leadership of an experienced management team and board, with considerable backgrounds in operations, finance and in building companies.
Lydian is a public company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX:LYD). The Company’s strategy to maximize shareholder value from its asset portfolio may include:
* Develop a defined resource into a mine in collaboration with Newmont - should Newmont decide
to exercise its option to earn into the project. Under these circumstances Newmont would
manage the mine-development process and subsequent exploitation; or
* Enter into a production joint-venture agreement with a local mining company or partner that
would have the technical and financial capabilities to put the resource into production; or
* Float off an asset into a new company, offering it to existing and new shareholders, while
retaining a royalty payment based on production.
Current Operations:

The Armulsar Project
The Armulsar licence areas cover a region of high-sulphidation, epithermal-type gold mineralisation located in central Armenia and discovered by Lydian in 2006.
Soil geochemical analyses (2006 and 2007) identified an area of 3.5 by 0.5 km with a core of values exceeding 0.1 g/t gold measuring some 1 Sq. km, including localised high-grade soil samples of up to 2.13 g/t gold. More than 21% of grab rock-chip samples collected to date have returned grades of greater than 1 g/t gold. Trench samples have returned results of 128 metres at 1.3 g/t gold (complete trench) and channel samples have returned 20 metres at 9.9 g/t (highest value 23.9 g/t), 23 metres at 9.3 g/t (highest value 30.6 g/t), and 13 metres at 2.5 g/t (highest value 4.6 g/t), all at a 0.5 g/t cut-off.
