Company Statement:
Fission Energy Corp. (TSX.V-FIS) is a Canadian based uranium exploration and development company with properties in Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin, Quebec, and the Macusani District in Peru. The Company's shares were spun-out as a distribution by Strathmore Minerals Corp (TSX.V-STM) in 2007. In 2003-04 Fission assembled one of the largest exploration property portfolios in Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin; home of the richest uranium deposits in the world. Fission's most valuable exploration asset is Waterbury Lake KEPCO Consortium Joint Venture, which is located in close proximity to Hathor's Midwest NE discovery ("Roughrider Zone") and the AREVA/Denison Midwest deposits. This project has the highest priority for 2009. Fission's 2009 winter exploration program included a ground based gravity geophysical survey, followed by a 6,500m drilling program that began on January 14th. A total of C$4.0 million has been budgeted for exploration in 2009, which is fully funded by the KEPCO consortium as part of their earn-in agreement.

Projects: Overview

Fission Energy's primary focus is Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin, home of the richest uranium mines in the world. The majority of the Company's exploration properties here were acquired by staking in 2003-2004. Additional properties are held in Quebec, Alberta, and Peru.
Exploration at the Waterbury Lake KEPCO Consortium Joint Venture project, located in the eastern part of the Athabasca Basin, is the Company's primary focus, and it has the highest priority for 2009. All other 100% owned properties are available for joint ventures.
Canada - Alberta
Fort Mcleod

The Company's Fort McLeod property is located in SouthWestern Alberta. The property totals approximately 900,000 acres (364,218 ha). The part of the western sedimentary basin covering southwestern Alberta is host to a number of uranium occurrences and showings, primarily hosted within the sandstones of the Tertiary Willow Creek formation.
Other prospective Upper Cretaceous to Tertiary sandstones found within the region include the Brazeau, Porcupine Hills and Paskapoo formations. Historical exploration during the 1980's identified a number of sandstone hosted roll-front uranium occurrences within the region. Grab samples from a roll-front uranium occurrence, exposed along the Waterton River near Fort McLeod, returned up to 2,000 ppm or .2% U308.

North Shore

In January 2009, the Company consolidated the North Shore and South Shore Properties into one land package, which will now be known as the North Shore Property. "Bridge" permits connecting the properties into one contiguous land package have been staked, and the overall size has been trimmed to 101,576 Ha. These changes will allow the Company to focus on the best targets identified by exploration completed to date.
The former North Shore Property is situated along the northwest margin of the Athabasca Basin, approximately 10 kilometers southwest of Cameco's Maurice Bay Uranium Deposit (1.3 million lbs @ 0.6% U3O8). In 2007, the property was optioned to Tribune Uranium Corp, who could earn a 60% interest in the project for C$10 million in exploration over five years and 600,000 shares of Tribune.

Duddridge Lake

The Duddridge Lake Property is situated along the eastern margins of the Wollaston Basement Domain, which underlies a number of significant uranium occurrences in the eastern part of the Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan. These include some of the richest uranium deposits known world wide, including: Key Lake, Millennium, McArthur River, Cigar Lake, Midwest Lake and Eagle Point. The McArthur River, Millennium and Eagle Point uranium deposits contain significant amounts of 'basement-hosted' uranium mineralization similar to Duddridge Lake. In 1974-75, Noranda Exploration began an exploration drill program and completed more than 30 holes

Davy Lake

The Davy Lake property was acquired in December, 2004. Currently the property comprises 64mineral claims totalling 257,472 ha. Davy Lake is located in the north-central part of the Athabasca Basin, and is accessible only by air only.

Minor Bay

The Minor Bay property comprises approximately 15,800 Ha, and is located along the southeast margin of the Athabasca Basin. It is accessible by road. Minor Bay is on trend with the West Bear deposit. It is an early stage exploration property with great potential based on the continuation of basement geology and magnetic trends. Analysis of data available from earlier exploration conducted by Gulf Minerals will help guide further exploration. No work is planned for 2009
Patterson Lake

The Patterson Lake property was acquired by staking in 2004. It comprises approximately 25,000 Ha, and is located about 30 km immediately south of the UEX/AREVA Anne and Collette uranium deposits near Shea Creek.

Patterson Lake South

In late 2007, Fission Energy and ESO Uranium Corp jointly staked 4 claims totaling 4,770 Ha on the southern extension of Fission's Patterson Lake property and ESO's Hook Lake claims to create the 50%/50% Patterson lake South Joint Venture. The results of the MEGATEM survey a will form a basis for developing ground targets for further work planned by the Joint Venture in 2008. Target depths for uranium mineralization are expected to be shallow (less than 300 meters deep) in this area.
Torwalt Lake

The Torwalt Lake property comprises 812 ha, and was acquired by staking in early 2004. It is located approximately 10km east of the Waterbury Lake project in the eastern part of the Athabasca Basin. The major uranium deposits are found in the general vicinity, including the nearby Dawn Lake mine.

Waterbury Lake

A group led by Korea Electric Power Corporation (NYSE-KEP), entered into an agreement for the joint development of the Waterbury Lake Property. The Consortium can earn up to a 50% interest in the project by incurring exploration expenditures totaling C$14,000,000 over 3 years. The C$5.5 million budget for 2007-2008 has been completed. A C$4 million budget has been approved for 2009.
The 41,280 hectare (~102,000 acres) Waterbury Lake Property virtually surrounds the AREVA/Denison Midwest Uranium Deposit (41 million lbs U3O8 at an average grade of about 5.5% U3O8), and the Midwest "A" discovery within the east-central part of Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin. This structural trend continues on to Fission's northeast claim area

Peru
Macusani

The Macusani, property is located within southeastern Peru. Fission holds the rights to 9 claim blocks encompassing 51 km2, and surface rights over some of the areas with known uranium mineralization.
Within the area, the stratigraphy is dominated by the sub-horizontal Pliocene Quenamari Formation, which is mainly composed of ignimbrite layers. Uranium anomalies occur on plateaus that are composed of the Upper Yapamayo Member of the Quenamari Formation.
