Description
African Queen Mines Ltd. and its subsidiaries acquire, explore and develop mineral properties in areas of Africa deemed to have relatively high potential for mining success and relatively low political risk. The Company is engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of properties for the potential mining of gold, metals and diamonds in Africa, initially focusing on exploration for diamonds in Botswana and Namibia, and gold in Mozambique. The Company has approximately 5,500 sq. km. of contiguous diamond licenses in Botswana and 6,200 sq. km. in Namibia, and is exploring for gold and metals in Mozambique under agreements with other companies. The Company was incorporated under the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada on April 30, 2008 and received the southern African net assets in a spin off transaction related to the acquisition of Pan African Mining Corp. by Asia Thai Mining Co., Ltd. in June 2008.

Half of the worlds' diamonds are mined in Namibia and Botswana and Botswana remains the world’s leading producer of gem diamonds.
The Company's Okavango and Tsau properties are strategically located close to two major surface concentrations of diamonds and G10 garnets in the vicinity of Omatako and Tsumkwe, to the west in Namibia. The ground in Namibia has been acquired in order to investigate a group of bulls-eye magnetic and photo features, closely comparable to those typical of kimberlite clusters that straddle the Namibian-Botswana border. Irwin Olian -Chief Executive Officer, President, Chairman and Director
Mr. Olian is an entrepreneur with a background in finance and law. During the past six years, he has developed a business as a self-employed private investment banker and business consultant to emerging companies, in fields ranging from biotechnology to high technology. Irwin was the founder and served as CEO and Chairman of Pan African until its acquisition by Asia Thai Mining Co. Ltd. in June 2008.
Limor Rubin, CA - Chief Financial Officer, Director
She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia and the Israeli Bureau of Accountants. In addition to experience in the mining industry, Ms. Rubin has experience with the financial services industry, mutual funds, insurance, real estate as well as the public sector. Prior to joining the Company and Sacre-Coeur, she served as Accounting Manager for KPMG and as a Senior Accountant with both KPMG and Ernst & Young.
Ardito Martohardjono – Director
Mr. Martohardjono has 15 years of progressive experience in the mineral exploration industry, focusing on sample preparation prior to chemical analysis and assay of geological samples as a lab technician and supervisor with the two leading geochemical laboratories in Canada and the United States.
W. Benjamin Catalano – Director
Mr. Catalano has been a real estate agent with The Sutton Group since 1991. Mr. Catalano devotes approximately 10% of his time toward the Company's affairs.
Gregory Sparks – Director
Mr. Sparks, a registered Professional Engineer, has been the principal of GBS PC, a mining consulting firm, since 1994. He has also been the General Manager of Genex Construction LLC, a heavy civil construction firm, since 2002. Mr. Sparks devotes approximately 25% of his time toward the Company's affairs.
Dr. Edward A. Schiller – Director, Senior Geological Consultant, Diamond and Gemstone Programs
Dr. Schiller brings over 30 years experience in mineral exploration, project management, acquisitions, financing, joint venture negotiations and corporate governance to the Company. Dr. Schiller has consulted for the United Nations on a gemstone project in Mozambique and a mining project in Greece. Dr. Schiller writes for several Canadian and international magazines on mining and mineral exploration and maintains a consulting practice.
