Current Operations:
Indian Iron Ore Projects
NSL has two foundation projects ready to operate and a pipeline of targeted projects which the Company is methodically assessing against the above mentioned criteria.
The two iron ore projects, Kuja and Mangal, are located in the South Eastern Province of Andhra Pradesh, India. NSL has acquired the extraction and selling rights to both Projects after conducting a due diligence process on the Projects. The binding agreements for the purchase of the Projects include the full acquisition of the mining leases.
The two project sites are located within approximately 5km of each other, and NSL has identified mining and logistics synergies that are intended to optimise the efficiency of the two mining operations.
In addition to these ready to operate assets, NSL has also acquired the rights to a large magnetite deposit
In keeping with the Company’s strategy, NSL is using its initial investments in India to build up its corporate knowledge and experience in mining Indian iron ore. This knowledge is being applied to the assessment of new opportunities in Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Karnataka and Orissa, some of India’s most established and productive iron ore precincts.
The Company continues to progress several opportunities for outright acquisition and joint venture structured agreements over multiple projects across India. Multiple opportunities have been taken to advanced stages of due diligence, and specifically NSL has conducted a full legal due diligence to ascertain the nature of:
- Ownership
- Titles over the lands
- The current status of all required permissions, permits and consents
- Encumbrances
- Outstanding liabilities
These opportunities continue to undergo detailed technical due diligence, with parallel commercial negotiations to finalise potential acquisition.
Projects under due diligence, could contain DSO and significant tonnage of low grade hematite and magnetite amenable to beneficiation. Associated minerals such as manganese are also expected to undergo further evaluation.
