Great Western Minerals Group Ltd. is engaged in becoming an integrated rare earth producer. Its specialty alloys are used in the battery, magnet and aerospace industries. Produced at the Company’s wholly owned subsidiaries Less Common Metals Limited in Ellesmere Port, U.K. and Great Western Technologies Inc. in Troy, Michigan, these alloys contain transition metals including nickel, cobalt, iron and rare earth elements. As part of the Company’s vertical integration strategy, GWMG also holds 100% equity ownership in Rare Earth Extraction Co. Limited, which controls the Steenkampskraal monazite mine. In addition to an exploration program at Steenkampskraal, GWMG also holds interests in four active rare earth exploration and development properties in North America.

Produced at the Company's wholly owned subsidiaries Less Common Metals Limited in Birkenhead, U.K. and Great Western Technologies Inc. in Troy, Michigan, these alloys contain aluminium, nickel, cobalt and Rare Earth Elements. As part of the Company's vertical integration strategy, GWMG also holds 100% equity ownership in Rare Earth Extraction Co. Limited, which owns a 74% equity interest in the Steenkampskraal Mine. In addition to an exploration program at Steenkampskraal, GWMG also holds interests in four active Rare Earth exploration and development properties in North America.

Projects
Great Western Minerals currently has three projects in development, one of which (Hoidas Lake) has been advanced to the prefeasibility stage of development.
GWMG's goal is to put in place a "mine-to-market" strategy and become North America's first vertically integrated rare earth elements producer. To that end, GWMG acquired its wholly owned subsidiary and processing facility, Great Western Technologies Inc. (GWTI), in January of 2006, and Less Common Metals Ltd., in June of 2008.
Steenkampskraal Mine (Rareco), Project — Western Cape, South Africa

The former-producing Steenkampskraal Mine is located approximately 70 km north of the town of Vanrhynsdorp, population 4,000, in the Western Cape Province of South Africa and is approximately 350 km north and west of Cape Town.

The Hoidas Lake Rare Earth Project is North America's most advanced rare earth element (REE) property in development. This site has the potential to supply at least 10% of North America's consumption of REEs for many years.

Other Projects
Red Wine Project, Labrador City, Canada
Comprising 301 claims totaling 7,525 hectares, the heavy rare earth-enriched Red Wine Property is located approximately 100 kilometers north-east of Churchill Falls, Labrador.
The property is located within 35 kilometers of a seasonal gravel road and is underlain by Proterozoic-age undersaturated perkaline syenite to nepheline syenite of the Red Wine Complex. Within the Complex are zones containing up to 30% of the heavy rare earth elements enriched eudialyte. HREE is defined as the heavy rare earth elements europium through lutetium plus yttrium.

Benjamin River Project, New Brunswick, Canada
The Benjamin River rare earth element project is located approximately 53 km west of Bathurst, New Brunswick. The property consists of 493 claim blocks covering 114 sq km and hosts a heavy rare earth element enriched, apatite-diopside-magnetite vein.
