Big Picture – A Deep Dive Examination of Fertoz Ltd
Fertoz Ltd Snapshot
Fertoz is an Australian listed fertilizer supplier that markets and develops a range of organic fertilizer products in North America and Australia.
Wapiti Project (100% Owned)
The Wapiti project totals an area of 11,870 ha and is located near Tumbler Ridge, in British Columbia, Canada. The project is easily accessible by sealed roads and Forest Service roads and has rail within 80 km. Geological survey work indicates a consistent and continuous at-surface phosphate-bearing horizon which has a potential strike length of up to 39km. Results of phosphate testing indicates up to 10% availability which makes the product at Wapiti particularly attractive to the North American organic sector, the largest organic market in the world.
The Crows Nest Phosphate Project covers 15km2 in British Columbia, and is located 15km southeast of Sparwood.
Trench results from Crows Nest have included grades of 27% P2O5 (1m thick) and 23% P2O5 (1m thick).
The Crows Nest project area has been subject to phosphate exploration since the 1920s. Underground work in the 1930s indicated areas of tri-calcium phosphate (Ca3P208) at minable widths but commercial production has never been attempted.
The deposit is suitable for open-pit mining and could supply the domestic market’s demand for phosphate. There is all-weather road access and rail access to the project.
Crows Nest tenements were connected to Marten in September 2014. Together with Barnes Lake and Marten they are part of the Fernie project.
The Marten Project consists of 4 tenements and covers 1,739 hectares (17.39 km2).
It is located 20km south east Sparwood and has been connected to Crows Nest. The three projects (Marten, Crows Nest and Barnes Lake) known as the Fernie Group are located within 25km of each other and are well supported by:
- Close proximity to the East Kootenay Coalfields, with the established mining communities of Fernie and Sparwood located less than 30km away providing a ready source of labour, business and government facilities
- Well-developed road and rail transportation, links to ports on Canada’s west coast, and regional centres in Alberta and the north-western United States.
