Coal Projects
Metro Mining’s 4 billion tonne thermal coal resource in Queensland’s Surat Basin is one of Australia’s largest.

Metro has successfully identified a 4 billion tonne thermal coal resource in the Surat Basin.  The coal is ideal as a feedstock for power stations due to its high quality and low sulphur. Deposits will be mined using modern, large scale underground long wall operations.  The company stopped work on its tenements in 2013 due to the depressed coal market and delays in rail infrastructure to Queensland’s Surat Basin.

Western Cape York
