Under their three-year agreement, Braingrid Corp will integrate its Sentroller technology and cloud platform with Scanit's on-premises systems to provide metrics for airborne disease detection, along with Braingrid's wireless, environmental, monitoring technology.

The agreement allows Braingrid and Scanit to each provide their analytics on one screen to make a grower's job easier and take swift action to avoid disease outbreaks.

Toronto-based Braingrid added that the companies will explore different business combinations, including a role for Braingrid as a value-added reseller. No terms have yet been determined, according to Braingrid.

Scanit, located in Fremont, California, has developed equipment and software to provide in near real-time, early airborne disease detection for outdoor and indoor growers. This solution detects, measures and identifies airborne diseases that are causing yield losses and crop failures before they are visible.

Disease, especially powdery mildew and botrytis, is a key concern for most cannabis growers and cost the industry millions of dollars in lost product, according to Braingrid.

"Growers who use Scanit and Braingrid solutions will be at the leading edge of early disease detection,” Braingrid CEO Michael Kadonoff said in a statement.

‘Meaningful insights’

Scanit CEO Pete Manautou added that “the critical data from both our systems will produce meaningful insights to our grower customers, enabling them to optimize yields and operational costs.”

Shares of Braingrid traded at C$0.18 in Monday’s Canadian trading. They fetched US$0.14 on the OTC Markets.

Last month, the company announced that it had struck up a partnership with A&L Canada Laboratories.

Under the terms of their three-year deal, Braingrid will serve as the mobile field lab supplier of real-time data to clients of A&L, an agricultural testing lab with a focus on cannabis.

An engineering and construction firm, TRAK creates customized smart energy systems (SES) that assist operators of precision agriculture greenhouse cultivation with environmental controls and a reduction in energy costs.

TRAK’s SES system will be combined with Braingrid’s Sentroller technology to optimize cannabis companies’ precision agriculture.

“The TRAK Smart Energy System, coupled with Braingrid’s technology, will further empower cultivators to optimize precision agriculture by pre-determining the almost infinite variations and right amount of nutrients, water, lighting spectrum and intensity, heating, cooling, humidity, air circulation, air volume changes, ... and other factors necessary to produce high-yield, healthy crops,” said Jeff Maxwell, CEO of TRAK.

Michael Kadonoff, CEO of Braingrid, was just as enthusiastic on the tie-up.

“Braingrid's Sentrollers already capture key variables within a cultivation environment and by coupling this information with TRAK's systems through our data science activities and powerful cloud architecture, we will collaboratively control critical parameters to guarantee the crops are never at risk and that TRAK systems efficiently respond to provide the best production conditions," Kadonoff said in a statement.

The three-year agreement between the two companies allows Braingrid to integrate its Sentroller technology and cloud platform to identify areas for process improvement and operate with TRAK's energy management system and SES. This will allow Braingrid to perform data gathering, monitoring and analysis in a bid to boost environmental controls.

“The goal is to fast track and introduce an unrivaled and complete turnkey solution for cannabis growers and agricultural companies to significantly reduce their energy consumption and footprint,” Braingrid said in a statement.

Based in Toronto, Braingrid is a technology company that provides an acquisition and sensor integration platform for cannabis cultivators. The company currently provides growers, specifically indoor ones, with a sensor platform called 'Sentroller' so they can monitor and keep a watchful eye on their crop at all times.

Braingrid shares held steady at C$0.16 on Monday.

The deal will improve the technology platform Braingrid offers to cannabis growers and expand its document control, risk management and process inspections offerings.

"We are pleased to have Isolocity join our family of services that improve the growers' experience," said Michael Kadonoff, CEO of Braingrid in a statement. "Growers are generally time-starved so having all of our data available to Isolocity customers provides rapid and easy decision support."

Chris Budd, founder of Isolocity, was just as bullish about the tie-up.

“Cultivators already appreciate our document control, risk management and process inspections and traceability,” said Budd. “Having Braingrid integrated on our platform makes both our customers incredibly efficient.”

Isolocity is a software company that caters to compliance issues faced by cannabis companies. Its system is designed to help cultivators gain GMP, EU GMP, and ISO 9001 certification while automating the compliance process.

<![CDATA[News - Braingrid says WeedMD cannabis greenhouse first to use Sentroller S sensor platform ]]> https://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/212350/braingrid-says-weedmd-cannabis-greenhouse-first-to-use-sentroller-s-sensor-platform-212350.html Braingrid Ltd (CNSX:BGRD) said Thursday that the Canadian licensed cannabis company WeedMD Inc (CVE:WMD) (OTCMKTS:WDDMF) has become the first to use its Sentroller S sensor platforms.

The Toronto-based company said in a press release that the sensor platforms will be used at WeedMD’s greenhouse facility in Strathroy, Ontario.

Braingrid added that the sensor platforms are wireless, helping cultivators monitor growing conditions in and around the plant canopy, where power connections aren’t always available. Use of solar panels makes the devices self-powered, according to Braingrid.

“We are very excited to have WeedMD, one of the most innovative cultivators in the cannabis sector, deploy our Sentroller S precision agriculture technology,” Michael Kadonoff, founder and CEO of Braingrid, said in a statement.

The Sentroller S has all of the features of Braingrid’s original Sentroller platform including quick installation and online dashboards and reports, as well as e-mail alarm notifications. The model also monitors temperature, relative humidity, carbon dioxide and moisture in the plant canopy.

WeedMD said it’s finishing an expansion at its 610,000-square-foot greenhouse in Strathroy and incorporating improvements including Braingrid’s sensor technology.

“We’re very pleased with the results so far with over 110,000 square feet of production space progressively online,” WeedMD CEO Keith Merker said.

Shares of Braingrid slipped C$0.01 to C$0.10 in Wednesday’s Canadian trading.
