Big Picture – A Deep Dive Examination of Explorex Resources Inc.
Explorex Resources Inc. Snapshot
Explorex has entered into an agreement with Canadian Gold Miner Inc. (private) to acquire a 100% interest in 2 historic targets: high grade gold (Cobalt-Frontenac) and high-grade cobalt + gold (Paragon-Hitchcock); located near the community of Elk Lake. The Elk Lake area began as a mining boom town when native silver was discovered in nearby James township in 1906. Mining activity peaked between 1907 and 1913, when there were about 30 active mining properties in the area. While the historic focus was on silver, there is a well-established association with cobalt mineralization as the geological setting has many similarities to the more exposed and developed Cobalt camp to the southeast.
Silver Dollar Property
The Silver Dollar project covers approximately 10 km of the 40 km long Camborne Fault System (CFS) and is 45 km southeast of Revelstoke, BC. The CFS hosts over 85 mineral deposits and showings, including 18 past producing historic mines of high grade gold & silver + lead and zinc.
Historically, small prospect “miners” exploited only mineralization observed in outcrop and most exploration was fragmented due to a multitude of small claim owners with competing interests. Explorex has assembled the district under its control to carry out a consistent and comprehensive exploration program to integrate historic data within a broader regional framework.
Due to the extent of the property and the diverse nature of mineralization, the project has been subdivided into 3 map segments: Gilman (southern), Mohawk (central) and Goldfinch (northern).
Handlebar Cobalt-Copper-Nickel Project, British Columbia
The Handlebar Co-Cu-Ni Project consists of two claims, totalling 3,638 hectares acquired 100% through staking. The Project is located approximately 60 km northeast of the city of Kamloops, British Columbia with excellent road access east from BC Highway 5 at Louis Creek along Agate Bay Road. The claims are situated on the west side of Adams Lake, south-southwest of Agate/Skwaam Bay with gravel road access into the claim group west from Adams Forest Service Road (Figures 1 and 2).
Hautalampi Mine, Finland
Explorex Resources Inc. has executed a Letter of Intent with three private Finnish companies to acquire the development stage Hautalampi Ni-Cu-Co deposit (“Hautalampi” or “Project”) within the renowned Outokumpu Mining Camp of eastern Finland owned by Vulcan Hautalampi Oy (a.k.a. FinnCobalt).
- Located in north central New Brunswick, 85 km southwest of Bathurst
- Along the southwest margin of the famous Bathurst Mining Camp; a world class base metal mining district host to 45 known volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) deposits
- 4,233 hectare claim group
- Excellent access with dense network of forestry roads
- Option to earn 75% interest
The Chrysler Lake project was staked to cover known outcrops of and contact zones of Nipissing diabase, that on strike, hosts a number of cobalt showings. The general area has been overlooked due to limited outcrop and limited access, however regional geophysics and increased access has led to significant competitive staking around the favourable geological contacts
Explorex will carry out prospect mapping, soil sampling, outcrop sampling and geophysics to define early drill targets.
