Avation PLC is a commercial passenger aircraft leasing company that was incorporated in England and Wales in 2006 listed on the Main List of the London Stock Exchange (LSE: AVAP).

Avation owns and manages a fleet of aircraft which it leases, through its subsidiaries, to airlines across the world. Our customers include Virgin Australia, Thomas Cook, Condor, Fiji Airways and UNI Air. The company’s fleet includes Airbus A320 family aircraft as well as Fokker 100s and ATR 72s.


Avation’s management team has extensive experience in all areas of the aviation industry and has the expertise to select aircraft to bring under Avation’s management that will deliver value to the company, performance to its customers and returns to its shareholders.


Coinciding with the expected delivery of the ATR 72s and potential acquisitions of other aircraft, Avation will continued to grow in terms of the size and quality of its managed fleet and the financial returns it generates.

Aircraft Parts & Spares

Avation owns a subsidiary company that is a recognised and reliable supplier of new and refurbished aircraft parts. Based in Singapore, the company has ample experience in sourcing and supplying even difficult to find parts.

The company is connected to several live parts databases so it can find what its clients are looking forquickly and efficiently.

Avation has experience in supplying parts for most aircraft types and has a strong history in working with the Airbus A320 series, Fokker 50 and Fokker 100 and the Boeing 737 and 747 series. Robert Jeffries Chatfield


 Mr Chatfield is the Chairman of Avation PLC and has been instrumental in establishing and growing the Company. Mr Chatfield has managed and been a director of a number of companies involved in the airline industry, data distribution, electronics, investment, broadcasting and manufacturing sectors. He has worked in a number of successful start-up companies and is the author of a variety of patents. He has Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering Science degrees from the University of Western Australia. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Singapore Institute of Directors.

He was born in Perth, Australia and is a Permanent Resident of Singapore.

Roderick Douglas Mahoney

Executive Director

 Mr. Mahoney was appointed an Executive Director of the Company in December 2011. He currently holds the position of Chief Commercial Officer with the Company and was previously a fleet planning and aircraft procurement consultant to the Company for one year prior to his appointment.

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Mahoney was a project advisor to a variety of Asia-Pacific airlines, suppliers and other aviation businesses and consulted to Virgin Blue and V Australia for 3 years.

Before that, he held various executive positions at the aircraft manufacturer, Airbus for 23 years, largely within the sales division, and was responsible for sales valued at some US$10bn in the European, Asian, Chinese and Pacific regions.

Mr. Mahoney holds a Masters degree in Applied Finance (MAppFin) from Macquarie University in Sydney, a Masters in Air Transport (MSc) from Cranfield University in the UK, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautical Engineering (BSc. Hons) and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). Mr Mahoney holds dual nationality of Australia and Great Britain.


Dr Stepen Fisher PHD

Non-Executive Director

In addition to his role at Avation PLC, Stephen is Chairman, Principal and Chief Investment Officer of First Degree Global Asset Management Pte. Ltd., a privately owned asset management company in Singapore founded in 2011. First Degree Global Asset Management operates a number of strategies for its clients including a Fixed Income focused hedge fund.

Stephen has had twenty-two years experience as an investment professional with leading investment management groups in the United States, Asia and Australia. From 2000 to 2011 he was Managing Director and Head of Global Fixed Income Product – Asia Pacific at JPMorgan Asset Management. Stephen held the positions of Australian Head of Capital Markets Research from 1992- 1996, and Asia Pacific Regional Head of Capital Markets Research at J.P. Morgan Investment Management, Inc. from 1996-1998.

Stephen’s particular areas of expertise are in quantitative analysis of fixed income, equities, asset allocation and derivatives. He has advised Central Banks and Sovereign Wealth Funds on their reserves management practice, and his research on investment management issues has been widely published in academic and industry journals.


Stephen has a Master of Science (Finance) and a PhD (Finance) from the WE Simon Graduate School of Business Administration, University of Rochester, New York and a Bachelor of Economics (First Class Honours) from the University of Sydney.

Richard Wolanski

Finance Director

Mr Richard Wolanski, B.Com, ACA, is a Chartered Accountant and his qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia.


He has provided corporate, strategic and financial advisory assistance to public companies in Australia, Singapore and the United Kingdom. Mr Wolanski has significant corporate experience during his career serving in a range of Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer Company roles. In his current role as Finance Director at Avation Plc he is primarily responsible for maintaining access to capital, debt and equity profile and cost of debt capital. Mr Wolanski has extensive professional experience in the international finance industry.
