Results for the period ended 31 December 2007 showed a loss of £1.5 million on revenues of £0.445 million. The size of the loss was larger than expected by the market, and in response Hot Tuna fell a further 18% to 1.125 pence valuing the company at just £0.87 million.

Hot Tuna's new management blamed its woes on a 'extremely challenging' trading environment, restructuring of its supply chain, a wet spring/summer sales period last year, and lower than expected brand awareness in the United States.

The only glimmer of hope offered up to investors was confirmation that a number of new initiatives started after a strategic review last year, where almost complete. Hot Tuna also confirmed that a £0.585 million placing was successful, offering the new management further breathing space to reinvigorate the company.
