The company has completed the first step in the requirements necessary to change its name and expects to meet the remaining legal and regulatory hurdle to make the change official in the next 60 days.

LithiumOre is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Oroplata Resources, which will soon be called American Battery Metals.

LithiumOre is a resource exploration and development company whose top focus is the establishment of a low-cost, environmentally sound production base to supply the rapidly growing lithium-ion battery industry for both mobile devices and laptops, as well as the burgeoning electronic vehicle industry.

LithiumOre holds 1,300 lithium mineral claims, totaling 26,000 acres, located in Railroad Valley of Nye County, Nevada.

Demand for lithium will continue to grow alongside electric cars and high-capacity electric storage.

The supply market for lithium is poised to become tight over the next decade, and that can be seen in its lofty spot price which is hovering at $18,000 per ton.

Oroplata shares closed up 5.94% to finish at $0.21 on Friday.

<![CDATA[News - Top scientist Dr Krishna Sharma joins LithiumOre's advisory board ]]> LithiumOre Corp announced Tuesday that it has expanded its advisory board to include well-known scientist and industry veteran Dr Krishna Sharma.

Sharma is the founder CEO of ITrace Biomedical Inc, a medical device technology company which has created an intelligent medical device platform for pain management. He also co-founded Sea2K, an R&D company that develops metal extraction and purification technologies from industrial waste water and effluents. Sea2K developed an extraction technology to recover potassium carbonate from seawater and distillery plants.

Prior to this, Sharma spent five years at Simbol Materials, as its lead scientist, designing and developing various extraction processes for the recovery of lithium, manganese, zinc and potassium from geothermal brines which are high in corrosive minerals.

Doug Cole, chairman and CEO of LithiumOre, said Sharma’s know-how about “all stages of extraction technology development” and collaboration with the FDA on several products leading to approval, made him “a key addition” to the advisory board.

“He will provide valuable insights and strategic guidance as we continue to develop our innovative battery metals extraction technology," said Cole.

Sharma holds over 25 US Patents and has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed scientific articles. He is the product of an Indian and American education with a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Hyderabad. He has carried out post-doctoral research at Texas A&M University and University of Alabama.
