Helen of Troy Ltd (NASDAQ:HELE) sank after reporting quarterly non-GAAP adjusted operating income declined 8.9% to $70.6 million, from $77.6 million a year earlier. The El Paso, Texas-based purveyor of consumer products said that non-GAAP adjusted diluted earnings per share from continuing operations slipped 4% to $2.40, compared with $2.50 a year earlier. Consolidated net sales revenue rose 2.4%.
The stock was down $16.47, or 12%, to $116.51.
AZZ Inc (NYSE: AZZ) gained after the Fort Worth, Texas, provider of metal-coatings services reported earnings per share of $0.59 during its third quarter, compared with a loss of $0.01 a year earlier. The company said bookings of $211.3 million were up 17.5% from a year earlier, resulting in a backlog of $307.8 million. That was up 8.7%.
The stock advanced $1.80, or 4.3%, to $43.25.
Jagged Peak Energy Inc (NYSE:JAG) climbed a day after BMO Capital reiterated a Buy rating with a price target of $13. The Denver-based oil and gas drilling company focuses on acquiring and developing oil and liquids-rich natural gas reserves in the Southern Delaware Basin, a sub-basin of the Permian Basin of western Texas.
Shares gained $0.11, or 1.1%, to $10.32.
Tactile Systems Technology Inc (NASDAQ:TCMD) rose after reporting that fourth-quarter total revenue is expected to be $45.5 million to $46 million, representing growth of 30% to 32% year-over-year. The Minneapolis-based developer of at-home therapy devices for chronic swelling said annual total revenue is forecast to be $142.8 million to $143.3 million, up 31%.
The stock gained $11.92, or 25%, to $59.27.
The Russell 2000 index of small-cap stocks climbed 1.2% to 1,422.59 on Tuesday.
