Activision Blizzard Inc (NASDAQ:ATVI) was the biggest loser Friday on the Nasdaq, dropping 9.4% to $46.54 after the "Call of Duty" videogame company said rights to the Destiny franchise were going to Bungie.
Starbucks Corp (NASDAQ:SBUX) declined 0.7% to $63.73 after Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:GS) said the coffee chain would be the next company to warn of a slowdown in China after the recent revenue outlook cut from Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL), which decreased 0.9% to $152.45.
Vail Resorts Inc sank 12.7% to $187.33 after reporting light ski bookings in December.
General Motors Co (NYSE:GM) led gains on the S&P 500, rising 7% to $37.18 after CEO Marry Barra said the company enters 2019 “positioned to win” following the announcement of cost-cutting steps.
