Strat Aero partners with US drone consortium

Strat Aero will supply key unmanned system software, services and training.

Strat Aero (LON:AERO) has teamed up with a consortium of drone-related companies in New Mexico in the US.

The company will affiliate to a consortium of companies in the Autonomous & Unmanned Systems Cluster (AUSC), which provides unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) services to large institutions including military, homeland security and oil & gas companies.

Strat Aero will supply key unmanned system software, services and training.

The partners have already applied for significant military contracts worth a combined US$10mln, having previously won a US Navy support services contract in April.

They are gearing up to compete for significant multi-year system engineering and technical assistance contracts scheduled for 2016, the company said.

Shares were 4.5% lower at 5.8p today.
