Akers makes diagnostic tests for hospitals

Akers Biosciences (LON:AKR) has added to its board with the appointment of a life science and healthcare specialist.

Laboratory expert Dr Raza Bokhari, will join as a non-executive director, the company said on Thursday.

He is currently chairman and chief executive of Parkway Clinical Laboratories, a College of American Pathologists-accredited national laboratory performing diagnostic testing procedures.

Dr Raymond Akers, co-founder and executive chairman of Akers, said: "His expertise, particularly in the fields of laboratory testing and health and wellness diagnostics - a growing area of importance for Akers Bio - will be invaluable as we continue to accelerate the commercialization of the company's rapid diagnostic assays."

Akers develops, manufactures, and supplies rapid diagnostic tests for hospital laboratories, government, military, law enforcement, on-the-job safety, doctors’ offices and home use.
